Crystal Flakes

Last month in July I made a card with this stamp( Crystal flakes) too, only then it was a wintercard.. Today I want to show you , she is also great for traditional Christmas cards too!If you did't start making Christmas cards yet, don;t wait too long, it is Christmas before you know it! These stamp and lots more you can buy at Funkykits.
I have colored her with my copics markers  and those papers are oldies from My Minds Eye.
As you all know  my favorite cardmaking is to you lots of layers and a bit vintage. So with the distressed doily from Tim Holtz I think I managed this.
I wish you all a lovely weekend and happy stamping!
Hugs Tiets xx
***********************
Liefs Tiets xx

Made With Love ♥

Good morning.

Thank you to all the lovely crafters who've already entered a card - or two! - into the Sugar Bowl challenge.
If you've not entered yet, then there's almost a week left to get inky and join in with the fun...there's a prize for one randomly chosen winner :)

A gorgeous card from Shazza using the Simply Sassy stamp Strike A Pose.
I love this colour combo! Very striking indeed Sharon :)

Marianne's  card is simply pretty, pretty, pretty!
Beautiful colouring - LOVE the pink hair :) and the soft, sweet colours are perfect for Sprinkle Some Love.

Oh Boy! Some of you crafters are a LOT more organised than I am, and have made a start on their Christmas cards already! Oh but they will be laughing when December comes around...and I'll be crying in my coffee!
A fabulous festive card from Marie using the image Warm Winter Wishes.

(I am eagerly waiting to see the new Christmas images that Karen had planned for this year!!)

Thanks for looking.

Sent with Love

Good Morning Everyone! Jane here today and I have a card to share with you made with one of my favourite Gorgeous Girls images called 'Sent with Love' which is available here from Funky Kits. I have coloured her to match these beautiful Autumnal papers from the 'Yours Truly' Glitz Design paper pad.

I have used one of my favourite layouts, layering all the papers onto kraft and stitching around the edges. I threaded the little tag with red lace and tied it with twine. The sentiment is an older stamp which I have had in my stash for a long time and I die cut it into a heart with a Spellbinders die.

My image was coloured with Promarkers and I added a little gem to her dress. I finished with some paper and a resin flower and more little gems. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

Get ready

The word of the moment is CHRISTMAS, in the store we are getting ready for the start of our busiest season, with demo's in Elgin on 1st and Oldmeldrum on the 8th, (local girls do not want to miss these).

We have a lot of seasonal stock landing this week and I have been busy making room for it about the shop.
I am please with some of the brands that have already arrived and have picked a few stamp lines to be added to Funkykits as I know you are going to want these to work along side your sweet Sugar Nellie stamps that you will see next month.

So because I am chasing my tail today, only one day off a week at the moment and priority has to be given over to the washing machine, because if Cameron and the kids run out of clothes I might just have to pack my bags.

Bearing in mind that the majority of hand made cards are made for special people that appreciated the time and effort you have put into your little piece of art, I thought that this set was particularly good with wording.

I will give one Sunday reader this set of stamps, just leave we some sugar and I will pick one Sugar Addict to send these out to.

All candy is up to date apart from Cass, a lot of you know this lovely lady and she is one of my favourite crafters to bump into at the show in Glasgow. She won candy but I also knew that she had a birthday coming her way and that sugar was involved. I did not want to send out something she already had, even it she did not know it yet . So if your reading this Cass, I owe you one! You might want to hold out for a new stamp from our Christmas range next month, that's if you have enough sugar to be going on with?
Oh and a Happy Birthday for yesterday,  I hope the cake was gooooood. xox
    take care
Karen

Ahhhh...How Romantic!

Good Morning :)

It's Thursday - just in case you didn't know that already - and time for a new Sugar Bowl challenge.
We have a fab sketch to follow from Sweetie Wendy and an optional theme of "Love and Romance".
Nice and easy huh? It could be a wedding card, an anniversary, or just to say I love you, whatever takes your fancy.

Wendy's beautiful card uses an image from the latest release, Aqua Marina.

A gorgeous, romantic card from Kiki using the image Young Love.

I love this stamp soooo much! Knitted With Love was originally released last year as a Christmas image.
But as Fiona has shown so beautifully here, the stamp can be used for occasions other than Christmas, and her little knitted heart makes her perfect for the theme.

So...which image will you use?
You can find the sketch and rules of entry over on the Sugar Bowl....I do hope you will join in the fun and play along - there's always a fab prize to be won too :)

Thanks for looking

I Grant You One Wish

Happy Wednesday friends.  Today I have a beautiful fairy to share with you.

This little sweetie is I Grant You One Wish.  I love all the Sugar Nellie fairies and I think this little bunny is so adorable.  I used my copics and colored pencils to color the image and then added Glamour Dust to make her sparkle.  I added a few snowflakes with pearls.  I followed the lovely Maria Therese's sketch over at The Sugar Bowl.  I really like this sketch as it makes the lovely image the focal point of my card.  You can find this lovely stamp at Funky Kits

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day!

Hugs, Anita

fall is in the air

Hello dear Sugar Nellie fans!

This is Kathrin here today - and while we all are melting away in the summer heat I have a fall-ish card to share today.
I wanted to make something not summer-ish but didn't feel like making a christmas card yet. And so I went through my stamps and came across the

from the Home Grown range.

I love those stamps and the little critters included in it. And it is also on sale right now...

The image has been colored with Copics. Actually I wanted to use my brand new (and finally arrived) Distress Ink Markers for it but I found out that my watercolor paper wasn't good for these. So I used my Copics again but tried to get the same effect of coloring. I even used the same tones of colors like I did when I tried the Distress Markers.

For my papers and flowers I only picked the two different kinds of browns and the red and white from the image. I tried to include some blue paper as well but it took away the fall-ish feeling from the card.

The flourish has been cut using my Cameo.

Actually I am on vacation right now but I know when I will be back home fall will be just around the corner... So enjoy those warm and sunny days of summer everyone!

Big hugs,

HAZEL & NUTTY.....

Morning all....

Vicky here today...and I have been playing with the uber cute Fairy Glen Collection...and I so love these adorable fairies....

I have teamed sweet Hazel & Nutty with some gorgeous First Edition Papers "New Leaf" and a couple of large fern leaves from a Memory Box die..

I have coloured her with my Copics, Chalks for cheeks and Prisma Pencils for added shading..

and finally added some Cheesecloth..a punched butterfly and flower...sentiment....and plenty of Stickles and Viva Pearls too...

for more details please pop over to my blog here..

So thanks for stopping by and hope you all have a lovely day too..

big hugs Vicky xx

Onwards And Upwards ♥

This is a sticky post, please scroll down for newer posts :)

Our Sugar Addicts know that we have a blog...since this is what you're reading right now! We also have the Sugar Bowl challenge blog where there is a new challenge every fortnight...and the Facebook Group.

Unfortunately, we have been experiencing some problems on the Facebook group. It appears we have Gremlins in the system and since the problems keep recurring, we have taken the decision to start afresh with a  new Group...The Official Sugar Nellie Group.
There will be the same features as the old group, only bigger and better! The Sugary Sunday challenge will continue to be run by Fiona and as always there is a prize for the winner :)
You are very welcome to post photographs of your cards or projects made with Sugar Nellie stamps...we always love to see what our Sugar Addicts create!
It's a lovely friendly bunch of crafters, and we all have a good giggle!
Please come on over and join our new group HERE.

Wedding Favours

Good morning sugar addicts, I hope your weekend has been a little relaxing as it should be.

Today as I sit in Oldmeldrum waiting for news as to  where Debbie has gone, Tom whisked her away on a secret honeymoon yesterday morning and the last I knew she was in an airport in South Georgia? Due to visa regulation she cant leave the USA for now, but that still give's them plenty of places to go, knowing Debbie is will be somewhere hot I think.

So the wedding was over two weeks ago and I thought you would like to see the crafty side of our day.
Here are the favours we made for the guests who spent the day in our company.

The un glazed pottery hearts I picked up in the gift clearance at Boots earlier in the year, when everything was half off it made them just a few pounds each. We removed all the packaging and re strung with organza ribbon to match the colour's of the wedding and added a printed tag with a message from the Bride and groom thanking everyone for sharing their day. The heart had a lovely embossed pattern similar to a die that I thought might be used for the invites but that idea did not play out.

The men's favours were a little harder to get right. Firstly it was to be a small bottle of Glenmorangie whisky as Cameron is affiliated with that brand but I could see the bottles being opened and drunk there and then and no keepsake being taken home.

Once upon a time I had a range of cards which had a pin and some tartan fabric attached to them, they were all "hunting , shooting and fishing" lines and sold very well as they pins themselves were worth having. I had a great idea about this pin sitting on a piece of tartan with a large tag behind with writing but time ran away from me and I ended up with a similar tag to the ladies with an extra poem, folded in half with the pin and a little bit of tartan ribbon.
The poem I used was from Robbie Burns and something (yet again) I used to use of cards long ago. It's one of the few poems that I can recite and I thought it was fitting with Debbie leaving the UK.

My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here;
My heart's in the Highlands a-chasing the deer;
A-chasing the wild-deer, and following the roe,
My heart's in the Highlands wherever I go.

And that yummy cup cake was off the desert table, I had seen that flower on pinterest and asked a friend to make some for the top of an embossed fondant cup cake, stunning they were.

That's all for me today, its time to open the shop and see what Sunday in Aberdeenshire bring us.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I hope you have time for a little crafting.

Karen

Hello little Robin

Hello sugar friends. Today I have a new Christmas card to show you. This beautiful image is called Hello little Robin, and you find it over at Funky Kits. I have colored the image with Copics, and all the papers are from Pion Design. I have decorated my card with pearls, glitter and flowers, and some big corner swirls from Quick Kuts.

I wish you all a wonderful and creative weekend.
Hugs, Marianne:)

Little Apprentice

Hello sweeties, here is Tiets again to show you another christmas tag.
When I saw the snow angel sentiment I had to think about this stamp... she is a snow angel don't you think?? She is called Little Apprenctice and you can buy here at funkykits.
Papers are from fancypants and I have colored her with copics markers.
On the right side you see the snowflakes from Tim Holtz and on the lift side a tag, where you can leave a litte message.
The ribbon and diamant pearl are from the Ribbon Girl.
The weather is lovely overhere,  warm and sunny, so I wish you all a lovely weekend with lot's of sun!
Hugs Tiets xx

Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining.

Good Morning Sugar Addicts!

The weather in my part of the UK has turned cold, windy and rainy again...I think we've seen the last of the Summer days (did we have any??) but every cloud has a silver lining right?
I'm not as eager to spend time outdoors when it's pouring down, but would rather stay snuggly buggly indoors, and what better way to spend my free time than getting a little inky and glittery.

Sometimes we all need a little help when our Mojo goes AWOL, and blogland is a feast of inspiration for all types of craft, but when it comes to cardmaking, it's a veritable smorgasbord!
Blogland is jam packed full of talented crafters who love to indulge in their creative passion, and our Sugar Addicts are the very best :)

The first card entered into the Sugar Bowl challenge is this little stunner from Amanda
You know I adore these chubbylicious fairies...I just want to pinch her chubby little cheeks!
Such a bright and beautiful card Amanda using the stamp 'Lil Sweetpea.

Mojca has chosen pastel tones and the Sassy image Picture Pose for her entry.
I love the delicate feel to her card, and her filigree butterflies are perfect.

Andrea has inked up a stamp from the latest release of mermaids, Ocean's Gift.
The theme for the challenge is purely optional, and Andrea has chosen not to follow the theme, but instead the embellishments are sea shells. The addition of little pearls around the image tie it all together so beautifully.

There is almost a week left to get your entry in to the Sugar Bowl and maybe your name will be randomly chosen to win some rubber...and there's only one thing better than new rubber...free new rubber!

Thanks for looking.
Love Elaine xx

A Sweet Sassy girl

Good Morning Everyone! Jane here today. I have been playing with my Sugar Nellie Simply Sassy girls recently. I love colouring them in and they look so different if you colour them in pastel colours instead of my usual brights! I have coloured the beautiful 'Fairy Tale' with my Promarkers to match these beautiful 'Dear Lizzy' Neapolitan papers and then cut her out leaving a small border. I created a simple layout layering the papers onto a polka dot design paper from the pack and stamped an old Elzybells sentiment directly onto the papers.

I added some pleated ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and a little spotty button below my image panel and some beautiful flowers I bought in Michaels in New York last year and finished with some punched butterflies and some stick on pearls and gems. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

Goodmorning everyone !!!!

I made my card using the lovely Manga stamp "Cheerleader"
You can fnd her HERE at FunkyKits.

The papers are from Bo Bunny - Country Garden.
The lace and vintage seambinding are from The Ribbon Girl, I also used a nestabilitie - Floral Ovals
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
Medium - Copics

Thanks for stoppping by, have a nice weekend !!!

Flutter-by Little Butterfly.

Good Morning!
Lots to tell you today so make a cuppa, grab a biscuit and pull up a chair :)

Today we have a new challenge over on the Sugar Bowl, with a fab sketch to follow and an optional theme of 'Butterflies'. Now tell me who doesn't like butterflies? Beautiful little fairy bugs flitting on by on gossamer wings. What's not to love??
The sketch for this challenge was done by Sweetie Maria using the ever-so-cute image Fairy Cakes.
Ain't she just the sweetest little fairy ever?

Exciting news next....we have some new baby Sweeties!! Four to be exact!
I was asked recently, how do you become a Sweetie...Sweeties are born Sweeties!
I'm not sure I should really tell you this - trade secrets and all that - but Sweeties are born deep down in the Scottish Sugar Mines, and are raised by the elves. Please don't worry about conditions in the mines, they are very well looked after. They dine on sweets, chocolates and fairy cakes, sleep in beds of candy floss and bathe only in Scottish Spring water.
When the Sweeties are fully mature, the Sugar Mama brings them up from the Sugar Mines to play in the Sugar Bowl.
(Disclaimer: This may not be totally accurate...some of the existing Sweeties are definitely not mature!!)

Let's give a very warm welcome to...
(In alphabetical order)

Jennifer has used the Simply Sassy image Butterfly Girl (sorry she is sooo popular that she's sold out!)

Louise had chosen the uber gorgeous Faye and Freddie.

Pami's card perfectly showcases the delightful Delia.

And Wendy has chosen to play with Sprinkle Some Love.

All fabulous cards from our fabulous new Sweeties :)
I hope you will pay their blogs a visit and leave them some love.

On a much sadder note....
Our lovely Sweetie Lilian has decided to step down from the Sugar Bowl :(
This will be Lilian's last card, and I am so sad to see her go.
Her colouring skills are amazing, but that aside, Lilian is just the loveliest, sweetest person and will be very much missed. Wishing you all the best and please keep in touch Lils!!
On that note, I will leave you will a couple more of Lilian's fabulous cards.

Faye and Freddie.

Delia.

And of course, Pippi Longsocks.

Sorry it's been such a long post...I did warn you!
Thanks for looking.
Love Elaine xx
