Winter Wonders - Launch Day Hop!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

It's an exciting day here.....

Yes, it's time to introduce some new festive friends to you!

All four super sweet new digi 'Winter Wonders' are available to buy HERE...and for this hop we decided to add in a few familiar faces too!

Please sit back and enjoy,  the overdose of snowflakes and glitter that we offer you today!

Tradition here at Sugar Nellie, dictates that a hop just wouldn't be the same without a little candy!

So, to be in with a chance of winning some, please follow the hop, leave a little love in the form of a comment, along the way and then come back here and tell me the names of all four new digi's?

Yes, it really is that simple!

Now, to start our hop off, I will send you to visit the lovely

Who will show you our 'Banner Boy' for this launch, in his full glory, Lisa will direct you onwards but, should you get lost along the way, the full hop order is at the bottom of this post!

Enjoy the hop and just for fun, let's have a little challenge...who will be first to get a card made with one of the new digi's? I'll be watching our Facebook group to see your posts!

SOS-messy crafter...who me?

""What can you expect, I can't be creative and tidy!LOL

While Kate's away the boss will play.......
UFO's are everywhere, yes that's right , un finished objects.
I blame pinterest myself, I have said it before, if I spent the time making instead of looking, I would be out the door with new lines for the pop up shop.

I have been running the Elgin shop for over a week now, all those hours 10 - 5, where between customers I play will new ideas and start many many things. But in that time I have only finished one new line, but I did make two of them!

Here is my masterpiece in all it's poor photographic glory.

I have been waiting for so long for these dies from sizzix to arrive. I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them and could not wait to start playing.

Backed on black felt with the LOVE cut from stiff burlap (no idea where I got this but if you hang on to something long enough you find a use for it) and a flower cut from felt with a bead in the middle. Simply classy, and don't forget quick!

So I still have HOME and NOEL to play with.

I even plugged in the old singer sewing machine, I did have to look up some sewing instructions for this model online, great that singer have the instruction manuals to down load. This singer belonged to my late mother in law, it's date of manufacture was 1952! WOW, it's older than I am and if threaded correctly , works great.

This weeks projects will be sewn, wish me lucky and pop in and help tidy up before Kate gets back will you please. LOL.

Have a peacefull and creative weekend.
Karen

Saturday Shenanigans

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I have been burning the candle at both ends, as a very good friend was in Edinburgh for the festival this past week.

So we took the opportunity to have a catch up and see some other friends, whilst he was here.

(and keep some hostelry owners in profits for the year)

We are also busy beavering down the 'Sugar Mines' with Christmas still in full flow, so I though I might share some of my favourite Winter stamps with you all to perhaps whet your appetite for next weekends launch and perhaps you'll see some that you've missed too!

DIGI- Squirrel Delivery Service

Oh, how I love these little beauties, and I'm excited for you to meet the new additions to the family.

However, if you just can't wait for next week and would like to get cracking this weekend on your holiday creations, there are lots available for (almost) immediate delivery in our digi shop.

Please feel free to take the opportunity to share your creations with us in the challenge both on Facebook and in The Sugar Bowl.

We'd be delighted to see them.

Enjoy your weekend, and I'll see you back here for our launch.

How Exciting!

Titania

Good morning sweet friends.  As the year is half over I decided I better get busy with some Christmas cards, so that's what I'm sharing today.

I used the beautiful Titania on my card today.  She is colored with copics and colored pencils and I've sprinkled on lots and lots of Glamour Dust!  Whoever receives this card will probably still be seeing glitter everywhere for several months lol.  I've added a delicate snowflake with some pearls.  I added some lace and a flower and then used a pearl brad for the center of the flower.  The sentiment is from an older set I've had for years.  You can find all the gorgeous Sugar Nellie rubber and digi stamps over at Funky Kits

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you have a fabulous weekend!

Hugs, Anita

SOS A pinterest wedding

Good morning everyone, I am a bit washed out this morning, a busy week topped off by teaching on Saturday and a quick turn around and out in the evening to join Kate at her daughters wedding.

The bride was beautiful. The groom wore the kilt well. It was a beautiful day.

Mother of the bride was stunning and all her hard work was admired befor being demolished!
Kate took the decoration of the venue to a different level. The pinterest level. Yes all those amazing photos that all brides to be. ponder over, novel ideas to make that day a little more special. Kate pulled them all out the hat and did them better than most of those pinned ideas.

I don't really know where to start....

Take 1000 different sized jars, stamp them, wrap them in lace, doilies, twine, ribbon and lace. Scatter them on every surface , every window sill, door step, table or alcove and switch on the tea light.

Take several thousand white paper doilies and make into bunting  and hang from the ceiling with the help of scaffolding!

Giant tissue pom poms, huge clusters of the bigger pom poms you ever did see, hung high above the dance floor..

There were several other themed areas but lets cut to the chase.....

Two round tables

One for the cake

Ones for the sweeties

No one, NO ONE ever did a candy table like this.

Amy Atlas move over Kate Mellis owned it!

The wedding cake consisted of a cup cake tower, topped with one small cake with a hand made fimo cake topper made by one of our local talents Elaine Rose. Attention to detail and an inside to the happy couple allowed  Elaine to design a topper so personal to Mr & Mrs Reese that everyone noticed that the kilted groom with his surfboard stood proud next to his beautiful bride and their pug!
There were cupcakes, macaroons and tablet all presented beautifully.

The sweetie table. WOW
I think we will have to start hiring her out, this table was like no other. Seriously, Amy Atlas may well head hunt our Kate.

I think it's best that I show you photos.

But not today. I need to check that it's OK with the bride. But as soon as I can I will show you how it should be done, with class.

For now, I have a candy box to work my way through. The adult take on a party bag LOL.

Happy Sunday

Karen

Saturday Shenanigans!

Well, sanity has been restored in many Scottish homes this week, as our school's have reopened, the kiddywinkles have resumed their studies and, hopefully, the parents will have a little more time for crafting?

As I get older (much. much older) I realise that my life seems to lurch between 'events' Birthdays, Easter, Summer Holidays and my eldest daughter has already had me trawling Pinterest to start planning her Halloween costume!
(she's seven, suggestions on a postcard please?)

But, time marches on and there is no stopping these things.

We have been planning the 'biggie' for quite some time now
(those of a delicate disposition, look away now)

because.....

We have some delightful furry and fairy friends, that we can't wait for you all to meet.

We start our Christmas launches on August 31st!

Be there, or 'bah humbug!' lol

Now, if you can't wait to get started with Christmas cards take a look at our Christmas Shop where you will find some of my own personal favourite Sugar Nellies from Christmas' gone by!

Perhaps you could share your creations in The Sugar Bowl and Facebook challenges? You know we'd love to see them.

 Enjoy your weekend!

"Peek-a-Boo" Birthday...

Hap-hap-happy Monday, sweet friends! Pat Frank here with another new Sugar Nellie DT project to share with you! Today's card is a fun (and cute, I think!) birthday card...

This sweet little stamp is called "Peek-a-Boo" and is from Sugar Nellie's "Home Grown" collection! It's available HERE at Funky Kits.

As always, I colored this image with Copic Sketch markers...then deepened the shading a bit with colored pencils! I love the sheerness of Copics for things like those overlapping balloons! Here's a bit of an angled photo...kind of "artsy," wouldn't you agree?!

If you'd like more info on this project plus a look at a couple of additional pics, please visit my blog HERE!!

And, that's it for me! Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit! Have a fabulous week!! Hugs...

SOS Christmas is coming...

Hello my lovelies, how has your week been? I often ask my young nephew, what's your good news and your bad news today?

Our good news is that we are almost ready for Christmas, yes there will be new Christmas digi stamps available this month, I am just waiting for the heads up from Gayle. While that's going on its time to prepare the craft shops, stock, workshops and demos all need planning. My Saturdays are full right through to the end of October.  The pop up shop is now closed but will open again in three weeks, just three weeks to motivate my band of merry women into making lots of quality lines for the season. It is a lot of fun, getting to know new crafters, some work in mediums that are new to me but in the end of the day it's all handmade.  We have some line to buy in as we just can't fill such a size of shop with only handmade lines. There is defiantly a Scottish theme shining through, with tweeds and whiskey barrels being made into all sorts of lovely things.

Back at HOS head quarters, we are not only making lots of sample for the store and classes but also lines for No 44 which can be sold as finished gifts.

At home on the farm, the harvest is about to start. My sewing machine is out and I have found my haul of beautiful fabrics that I buy every time I go to the USA, time to use them up! I have the ideas I just thing I will probably end up getting a seamstress to do the sewing as I am a beginner and would never pass my own quality control tests!

This is a little blast from the past!
Six years!
I had better get my celebration hat on and do some planning for some birthday promotions.

Bad news is ......I only have one pair of hands, I had better get on with it and stop blethering on here. LOL

Sending Happy Thoughts

Hello sweet friends!  I hope you have a fun and crafty weekend to look forward to.  I thought I would share a card with one of our new Summer Adorables today ...

Isn't she a gorgeous little girl?  I colored her with copics and colored pencils and then I used some Star Dust Stickles on her necklace.  My papers are some older ones from my stash and I thought the flower pattern was just perfect for this little sweetie.  I've used a Memory Box die for the vine and a punch for the tiny flowers.  I also used some gorgeous lace and a gingham bow on my card.  You can find more details over on my blog and you can find all the fabulous Sugar Nellie images at Funky Kits.

Thank you for stopping by.

Hugs, Anita

SOS - Such good taste!

I do love beautiful things, pretty things and hard to get your hands on because the order books are closed on the web site is in Russian and I cant read it, kind of things. My love of Pinterest goes back to the good old days, where there were just pretty picture shared on one very fast growing site. There was none of the dark side visible in those days. Th
e good is still there, over shadowed by the bad. But I visit every day and still find new beautiful things. I have shared many of these things with you but today its something new. I have discovered the world of beautifully dressed cotton dolls. Something like tilda dolls but taken that step further. T Conne or to use her full name Titana Conne is Russian I think, the language is beyond me and even translator struggles with this one. Just look at these... visit her on FB and check out her pictures, mostly rabbits, sheep and horses but if you go back far enough you will find her dolls.

blogger is being difficult today so I will say cherrio and let you search out T Conne on pinterest.
