Bubble and Squeak - CAS style!

Hello everyone... ooh I've gone very clean & simple with today's creation!

After I'd added the sentiment with this adorable Bubble and Squeak stamp, I did try adding all sorts of different dies and embellishments but it really didn't need anything... so I've forced myself to leave it alone.  Of course I might still go back to it and add more 'stuff' later!

Thanks for popping in... Hope you all have a lovely day :o)

Saturday Shenanigans!

Happy Saturday Everyone!

I have a fairly packed weekend ahead....

Today I will be buying my girls winter coats and boots, because it's turned decisively COLD here in my little part of Scotland.

Tomorrow, I have a mountain of cakes to bake, as Wednesday is my last day at my current 'day job' and I reckon the guys there need some sweetness for putting up with me!

But, this morning, I thought I'd talk to you all about LUST!

(Those of a sensitive disposition look away now)

There are loads of things I lust after...

Some of you, may already know of my 28 year long John Cusack obsession.

(What can I say? I'm loyal and he's delicious!)

Speaking of delicious......

I may treat myself to a little bar of this today, purely for medicinal reasons you understand, to sustain me through today's shopping expedition.

But top of my current 'lust list' are these little beauties....

Tim Holtz Limited Edition Distress Markers, I NEED them!!!

I am fortunate that I already have the original set but, it was a frequently discussed topic with Elaine that we really needed the limited edition colours as markers too, and the minute these were released they jumped straight to the top of my wish list!

(unfortunately they're still just 'on the list' but perhaps Santa just might assist?)

I haven't had much time for crafting lately as 'life' just seems to have gotten in the way BUT, I am determined that with the winter setting in I will perfect my colouring technique and as Distress Inks are my favourite colouring medium, these are the perfect accessory for adding more depth and dimension, than using the inks by themselves

Look at this beautiful card made by the lovely Andie using Distress Inks to colour our sweet Rosie

The shading in the folds of the skirt are something I aspire to, and I will get there this winter, I have promised myself!!!

Now, if you are lucky enough to miss trudging around the shops, with two small children today, why not stay home and do some crafting?

We would love to see your creations in  our 'Anything Sugar Nellie Goes' challenge over in The Sugar Bowl and  an 'Autumnal Theme' running on our Facebook page.

Finally today, I am curious.....

What's top of your crafting 'Lust List'???

Enjoy your weekend...

Merry & Bright

Hello once again sweet friends.  We've made it to Friday and I hope you have a wonderful weekend planned :)  I'm back today with another Christmas card.  My stash is finally starting to grow and I am hoping to have enough made so that I don't have to make a mad dash completing Christmas cards at the last minute this year!

This sweet and beautiful little girl is Gingerbread Cookies, a digital image available over at Funky Kits.  I colored her with copics and colored pencils and then added some Glamour Dust to her star wand and the snow-covered ground.  I used some seam binding and pretty pearls for embellishments.  You can find more details over on my blog.

Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit.

Hugs, Anita

Up cycle for Christmas pt 1

Hello fellow crafters, lets get those sewing machines out today and do a little more up cycling.

Jumpers, jumpers and may be the odd cardigan are going to be so much more loved when you give them a new lease of life as the very special, but totally trendy, Christmas stocking!

Kelly has made this project so simple even I can do it!
Knitting is thee trend but why go buy wool and spend hours knitting when half an hour can see this
project done and dusted.

Grab some old bobbly sweaters, wash and dry and sew. Magic!
Here is Kelly's super easy step by step
http://www.imperfecthomemaking.com/2011/12/christmas-stockings-made-from-sweaters.html

That's another fine project ready for the season.

P.S. if you have any adorable baby grows that your baby has out grown super quick, as they do, why not try it out on
one of them, recycle reuse love all over again. X

and dont throw anything away, join me next week for part two!

Up cycle for Christmas

Hello stampers, something a little different for you today. I think that all of us can safely be called creative and many of us fall into the category of " hoarder". I know that I have over 10 years of collecting supplies, just in case I find a project that requires said item, don't ever throw anything away, yup I am a hoarder.

Magazines and glass just almost got the big clear out when the council supplied bins for just these two things, maybe it was more than just me that had been saving these for a rainy day.

I have cupboards of glass jars, just sitting waiting to be given a new lease of life.
After seeing the beauties that these could be transformed into at a resent wedding, I know what need to be done.

But then I found this tutorial from Michelle.
http://www.sweetsomethingdesign.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/altered-bottles-tutorial.html

So why not join me in using up those glass jars and bottles, a little bit of glitter, some bought in snowflakes or
die cut some from glitter card. If you do a jar, pop into pound land and get some battery operated tea lights to
Place in the jar, these would make a beautiful centre piece.

I will love doing this project, it's right up my street. Why not join me!

enjoy

Saturday Shenanigans

Happy Saturday Everyone!

Today, I was due to be planning Halloween costumes with my 'big girl' (she's 7)

But, as is the way of the world, she is ill today, so I am planning all the other Halloween things which don't need her input.....although, she is curled up next to me telling me what she does and doesn't like!

We LOVE Halloween in this house, and the planning for Halloween normally starts just as soon as the school term does but, I've left it a little late this year.

So today, I have decided to put that right, I am planning the pumpkins.......

These were last years, and carved by 'the husband'.....he grumbles every year but, secretly, I think he loves doing them.

I have a feeling that these will start to become a catalogue of my girls' likes....she's already outgrown the Hello Kitty thing!

This was my favourite thing from last year....I bought the basic wreath from John Lewis in the January Sales for the princely sum of £3.

A bit of net and some pumpkin lights later and it was transformed!

These, I found, on the internet the other day, and I dare say a few of them might make it to our Halloween table...

As for costumes, this is currently my (gleaned from Pinterest) favourite for the big girl....

But, as is always the way....she's just announced that she wants to be 'The Tooth Fairy'....

HELP!!!

Enjoy your weekend!

Fifi Goes Walkies

Hello, Lisa here with a pink fairy creation to show you...

I love all of the Fairy Glen stamps and it's so hard to choose which one to colour... but I decided on the lovely Fifi Goes Walkies for today's card.  She's available here at Funky Kits.

More photos and details over on my blog here.

Thanks for popping in, hope you all have a lovely day :o)

Floral fun

I am in love with paper flowers, when spend many pounds on a pack of six or sometimes even less, when you can make them yourself. You have papers, you have punches and dies and I bet you have bling and pearls too!

Jump over to see "what Katie did" on her blog.

And if you fancy digging out the fabric, ribbon and felt, also read this post from Katie.

Flower are not only for cards, but think about gift boxes, wreaths and other home decor items this crafty season.

SOS - Gorjuss Clearance

Hello lovely stampers, how has your week been?

I hope by now you have at least thought about the season ahead and the possibilities of crafting your way through it.

I have a massive tidy up day on Monday, this week has been crazy with deliveries to the store of Christmas stock, the pop up shop has so many new lines heading it's way if only I could finish some of them. The class room is getting a pre season tidy ready for a busy time ahead.

With that in mind, it's also time to have a clear out over at Funkykits. Over the years it has grown from a few drawers to more than half the class room.

It's time to down size!

First thing to be cleared is Gorjuss stamps from Personal Impressions, they made the second batch of licenced stamps and they have been reduced to clear. With a massive 40% off the already competitive prices, you will in fact pay more for second hand stamps on ebay. But as I write this post up, already 50% of the lines are sold out.

Be quick if you have any to add to your collection. These are no longer manufactured. The third company to licence these images was Docrafts but they did not have many stamps and have not increased their range any. PI held the licence for the most images so their range was the largest out of the three companies, ourself being the first.  55 stamps were available but they are selling fast because we all love a bargin, don't we?

Enjoy your weekend

Merry & Bright

Hello sweeties.  Well, it's Friday so we've got this weekend to look forward to, right?  My plan for this weekend is to be creative.  I've got lots of Sugar Nellie images stamped and printed and I hope to get lots of coloring done.  I'm really hoping to get some Christmas cards completed!  Today I have a card to share with you featuring one of our new Winter Wonders.

I adore penguins and immediately fell in love with this sweet image, Penguin Party.  I love that little mouse that's helping wrap the presents, too.  I colored this image with copics and colored pencils and used some Glossy Accents on the penguins beak and foot to give them some shine.  There's Glamour Dust on his hat and the snow-covered ground, and then I added some Liquid Pearl dots along the outside of the image.  I added a star flourish and a bow to complete my card.

You can find this new Winter Wonder digi and all the other gorgeous Sugar Nellie images over at Funky Kits.  I hope you find some time this weekend to get your fingers inky!

Hugs, Anita
