SOS - Patterns

Good morning Sugar Addicts, how has your week been?

It's been an easy week in the sugar mines, not much going on, a lot of tiding up and emptying boxes to see what exactly we have in stock. A good few lines in Funkykits near sell out but I don't think we will restock.
{waiting for a pallet of clearance deals to arrive, watch this space}

I am finding more and more orders for digital, it might be that our sugar addict are spread all over the world and its so hard waiting for a packet to arrive when you are a crafter. It might be the storage issue all crafter have, where to hide supplies. It could be the easy of printing perfect against smudging the ink or just the way that you can re size an image to what ever you need.

All these point are why digital stamps are out selling real rubber. As the rubber sells out I will hunt for the original art and see if it can be made into a digital file. It's not always possible due to quality of artwork and the licence we hold for different artist. After all there was no such thing as digital stamps four years ago.

I also see a trend for crafters to put down their trimmer and pick up a ball of wool.
Knitting and crochet along with sewing has been building up momentum
and usually crafters are flexible and willing to try out anything new,
most have been born crafters before finding papercrafting and
usually those blue peter kids can turn their hands to anything.

I am still lusting after Tabby's crochet word that Gayle highlighted last week.
I even took out a hook and watched a youtube clip about 6 times before I found myself beyond the start up row. I did a good few rows on the round but my tension and stitches were erratic at best. I was happy with my first try but it ain't going to be made in to any thing.

Now if you can knit I have a great pattern for you. If you start now you can have a warren of them done by Christmas and they make the sweetest gifts.

I have admired Julies work for many years and I even have an original, only the one which she kindly sent me a long time ago but its still very much loved and lonely.

If you have not guessed, it's a LITTLE COTTON RABBIT...

Saturday Shenanigans

Happy Saturday Everyone!

An especially Happy Birthday to our very own Fiona, the Sweetie who runs our Facebook challenges!

Now birthdays, for me, mean only one thing!

Cake!

And, some of the finest I’ve ever seen are made by Cat Lawlor of The Cake Cuppery in Dublin.

Now, it’s my birthday tomorrow and I stand very little chance of having anyone buy me a cake but,
if I could have any cake in the whole wide world this would be it….

'Elegant Vintage Cake'

Isn’t that the most exquisite cake you’ve ever seen?

And take a look at these cupcakes…

and as for the cake pops…

Cupperypops

Simply exquisite!

As a very good friend of mine, who lives in Dublin attended a wedding where Cat had supplied the 'dessert table' and I have it on very good authority that these taste as delicious as they look!

Now, perhaps I’ll spend the weekend in the kitchen….

What will you do?

Will you perhaps, make a card and join us in our challenges over on Facebook and in The Sugar Bowl?

There are some super sweet sugary prizes to be won!

However you choose to spend it…

Enjoy your weekend!

Luv’n’Hugs

Jelly Pip

Hello sweet friends.  I hope you've had a wonderful week and a fabulous weekend to look forward to!  I have one of the cute and adorable Home Grown Sherbet Pips to share with you today.

This little sweetie is Jelly Pip.  I love all the Sherbet Pips and decided to use one for a young girl's birthday card.  I've colored her with copics and colored pencils and used some bright and cheerful paper that I've had in my stash for awhile now.  You can find all of the adorable Pip stamps over at Funky Kits.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you find some time to get inky this weekend!

Hugs, Anita

I also adore Lorraine's blue and green colour combo, and the clean design.

Please take our badge Lorraine, you very much deserve it :)

SOS- I'm in love

What a difference a day makes, yesterday was one of weather watching as Katie joined in the small village community and took her cupcakes to the village square. We knew that all was not lost if the heavens opened and the day was called off as she always had the coffee shop, only a stones throw away from the square in Oldmeldrum to take refuge in. All the visitors would also need to follow for a hot cup of coffee and of course a yummy cup cake, it would be rude not to!

Two hours in and she was sold out, better that than the other as stalls can very much be a hit or a miss, with cakes there is no packing up the goods and selling at the next fair. I have done my share of craft fairs and there is not much I have not happen to me in my time. All in all, she sold out but that was good because I could not eat another cake by the end of the day!

I came home and after putting the kettle on, checked out what's been going on in the world.

I QUICKLY FELL IN LOVE.

Did your read Gayles post yesterday?

Where does she find these addictions, I blame Elaine Livesey, there is nothing trendy or super cute that she has not discovered ( and I thought I spent too much time surfing).

Enter the world of Amigurui???? I think we will just go with AMI for now.

It's a whole new world *sings in her best Disney voice*,......one that has opened my eyes.

Yes I am tempted to dig out my crochet hook, but its been 35 years and I know that I could never make them as cute as Tabby. With that in mind, I don't know if I can wait for her order book to open up. I want them all, now you might think that is being a tad greedy but if it's good then I appreciate the work and try to support the artist. rrrrrrrRIGHT!

Having surfed the net, I still come back to Tabby, I AM IN LOVE those colours are so soft and delicate, classy and perfect. Do I have the patience to wait? Am I a crafter! I will keep you informed.

BUT if you know of anything super cute like this that I find fall for, let me know ;)

But there is some lovely colours of yarn out there......

I cant follow Gayles post from yesterday, I am still swooning over those cuties and cant think straight.

I hope you have a nice Sunday, the weather is fine up here in Scotland, all is calm on the farm as lambing is over only three cows left to calf.

I did venture out to the caravan for some 12" papers yesterday, OMG what a mess, remember those sand storms last month?

Today I am going to play with felt, buttons and ribbons.

take care

Karen
