Eye Candy ♥

Good Morning Sugar Addicts :)

I'm back today with another fabulous Eye Candy ♥

As always, we are very grateful to everyone that enters the Sugar Bowl challenge.
There's nothing more satisfying than seeing a display of beautiful, unique and diverse creations made by our devoted customers with our rubber and digital stamps.

And so after careful and considerate deliberations plus a good amount of  oooing and ahhhing, this weeks Eye Candy goes to...

Cris....I love the different shapes of the layers, the angles, the pretty pastel shades and the beautiful embellishments, and that's before mentioning my mostest favouritest stamp ever in the whole wide rubber world...Pippi Longsocks.

Please take our badge Cris and display it with pride :)

Before I leave you in peace...

I hope you'll join us on Saturday for the new release of rubber.
I managed to get a sneaky peak at some of the  DT's samples and they are ah-may-zing!

Thanks for looking.

Sporty

Hello Everyone! Jane here and I have a bright and cheery boy's card for you today. I have used a Manga stamp called Sporty which is available here from Funky Kits.

I used Echo Park papers on my card and a gorgeous turquoise riibbon. I used some gorgeous little wooden embellishments too which are perfect for boy's cards.
Here is a little close up of my coloured in image. I cut it out leaving a small border before adding it to my card with foam pads.

I hope you have a lovely Wednesday and make sure you put a date in your diaries to join us on Saturday for a blog hop to celebrate our Bags of Fashion release.

If Only...

Happy Monday! Pat Frank here with a new Sugar Nellie DT card! But first I want to let you in on a little secret...Sugar Nellie has a new Spring collection of stamps coming out later this week!! And to kick off the event, Sugar Nellie's talented Design Team will be hosting a blog hop! Check it out...

Sooooo....be sure to mark your calendars and set your alarm clocks (11 a.m. GMT)!! It promises to be lots of fun...PLUS, there will be fabulous PRIZES!! I don't know about you, but I can't wait!

Okey dokey...back to my card!

Today's card features one of Leanne Ellis' images made specifically for Sugar Nellie. This one is called "If Only" and is available HERE at Funky Kits. Here's a close-up...

I've been having such fun playing with my Leanne Ellis stamps...and, instead of using Copics for this one, I pulled out my Distress Inks. It's been more than two years since I used Distress Inks . . . and I still need lots of practice . . . but I rather like how this turned out.

And one more pic...

For more info on this card plus a peek at a few more pics,
please pop on over to my blog HERE!!

And, that's it for me! Sweet, sweet hugs to you all....

Ooooohhhh……we’re all super excited in The Sugar Mines today!

I am finally able to share news of our next release!

This time next week, you’ll be able to order some deliciously sweet rubber fashionistas, from Funky Kits

Yes, next week we shall have a blog hop featuring our FABULOUS Design Team and their equally FABULOUS guests and, as always, there will be sweet rubber candy to be won!

Oooh, it’s so exciting!

I am doubly excited because, although you’d never know it if you met me, I am somewhat of a traditionalist…..I love my stamps in rubber!

Maybe it’s the fact that they’re tangible…maybe it’s the fact that I can stroke them, maybe I like the anticipation of stalking the postman,  maybe it’s the fact that I love playing with ink?
(ahem, enough of my rubber fetish)

If you’d like to play with ink this weekend, digi or rubber, please join us over at The Sugar Bowl or on our Facebook Group  where you will have the chance to win some sweet, sweet candy!

Perhaps you’ll even pick some of our delicious new ‘Bag Ladies’???

Enjoy your weekend!

MacBeth

Hello sweet friends!  Today I have a card featuring one of the adorable stamps from the Home Grown Soft Centres collection.

This sweet dog is called MacBeth and I love his chubby tummy and the little flower pot he's holding.  I colored him with copics and colored pencils and added just a touch of Glamour Dust to the flower.  This card will be going to a young girl so I matted the image on a little doily and added a bow and a few buttons.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  I hope you have a warm and wonderful weekend!

Hugs, Anita

Good Morning Sugar Addicts.

I hope the sun is shining for you today :)

Many thanks to everyone that's entered the Sugar Bowl challenge so far...there's still plenty of time to get your entries in.
You certainly make our job a hard one, trying to pick just one card for Eye Candy takes us hours...there are so many amazing and beautifully created cards to choose from...but please keep it up, we love to admire them all!

And so this weeks Eye Candy badge goes to...

And how appropriate it is that Rosie has used her namesake stamp Rosie
(also available as a digital image HERE)

I love the Fairy wings die-cuts!
Please take our badge Rosie and display it with pride :)

And this got me to thinking...how lovely it would be to share your name with a beautiful stamp!
Shouldn't everyone have one?

Thanks for looking

Hello everyone!
This is Kathrin here today sharing another creation with you.

Well, I guess you all feel the same like I do: when will winter end and spring be here? I can't believe it just started snowing again... I mean, I love snow but now I would also totally love to see the sun and a few flowers in my garden.
So, to remind me of the good things winter brings I have made this card for you today:

Those penguin are just the cutest! And they remind me of the fact that snuggling a bit is the best thing you can do on a frosty winter day... ;)

The image is called "Warm Winter Wishes" - and best thing about it is, that it is a digi. When those became popular I first wasn't too impressed - I missed the inking of a stamp. But now I love them! Don't have the right image for what you want to do? Don't worry - you can get a digi in seconds... And there's nothing worse than waiting for a stamp order to be delivered by the postie, right?
Here you can find all the Sugar Nellie digis that will all be available for download right after ordering.

That's it for today - enjoy your time!

LEAD THE WAY.....

Morning all....

Vicky here today....and today I have played with one of my Puppy Love collection stamps "Lead the Way"...and don't you just love her wee doggie...

I have teamed this sweetie with some pretty Bo Bunny papers....

Coloured her with my Copics, chalks for her cheeks...and Prisma pencils for added shading...

and added a selection of Memory Box dies...and some pretty gems too...

for more details please pop over to my blog here..

So thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a lovely day too...

big hugs Vicky xx

SOS- Did you get email ?

Hello and welcome to another Share On Sunday post.
I would like you to share with me if you received an email newsletter from Funkykits this week?

For some time now, I have suspected that the email newsletter system build into our store is not working. With the many 1000's of subscriber's over almost 6 years, I think its just too big for either the download speed we have here in the sticks or the web package can not handle it.
I remember some time ago having to change so that the emails were sent out in bundles of 500 to stop the system failing and starting again, leaving some people with 4/5 emails and others none. But I am at a lost as to where that upgrade went?

SO did you get an email this week?

If not its not too late to get FREE stamps.

We were celebrating the arrival of the white stuff with a free snowman stamp when you spend 20 pounds or more on any brand of rubber stamps at www.funkykits.co.uk

Just enter SNOW in the comments box and you will receive this stamp FOC.

If you fancy making snow men together, lets get ready.

Creative Boutique in Oldmeldrum Aberdeenshire has a demo day coming up on Saturday 23rd Feb with Jenny Trueman. I will also be there to help out while Katie makes the coffee's and serves up her new range of cupcakes, there is a lot of baking to be done this week!

********
Cakes are also the talk of the shop in Elgin at PAPERCRAFTS boutique where cup cake decorating classes start on Saturday 2nd March.
Oh the sugar rush is hitting me hard!

********

One more question before I leave you in peace this Sunday.
A few years ago I had to furnish a student flat in Glasgow and after much shopping
ended up with everything from Next.
Now it looks like I am upgrading the student flat for a holiday home, thanks to DH,
in Philadelphia and would like to know...
what is the equivalent of NEXT in the USA?

Their current catalogue is to die for, all those lovely colour comb's that only a crafter can truly appreciate.
I'm already dreaming of having the black/grey/yellow in at least one bedroom if not the lounge.

{Cathy even did a card on the FB The Official Sugar Nellie page in this same colour combo and it was delightful.}
Katie also just finished doing a feature for a magazine in the UK in just those same colour :)
Who say's we aint trendy?
Take care and go collect your free snowman, go on you know you want to
and this offer expires on Tuesday.

Saturday Shenanigans!

Good morning one and all!

I hope that you are having a lovely start to your weekend…

I’ve had a very difficult start to mine, I had to pick some Guest DT members!

I was overwhelmed by all of your entries, it is truly fantastic that you love us enough to want to be a part of the family here at Sugar Nellie!

I’ve chosen a couple more than I had initially planned, as the talent was just too good to miss.

So, here goes, the lucky Guest DT members are…..

Congratulations ladies…..please email me and I’ll get you all started with our forthcoming  'Bags Of Fashion' release.

If you didn't make it this time, keep your eyes peeled, as I intend to as some Guest DT members again in the very near future.

As always with these things, it is those who didn’t make it which weigh heaviest on my heart!

There is little I can say to console you, just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again.

(I should know….Karen still won’t allow me on the Design Team!)

However, if I could give one serious piece of advice....

Please don't ever start your application for anything using the phrase...

"I know I'm probably not good enough"

(yes, there were a LOT of these)

A little self belief is required!

I hope you all intend to be crafty this weekend...I myself am knee deep in birthday card's this weekend.

Should you require a little crafty inspiration to get you going, please drop by The Sugar Bowl and our Facebook Group where you will find challenges running and some sugar to be won!

Enjoy your weekend

I've coloured her with copics, added some Viva pearls around her and on her belt, and matched her up with some pretty new Prima papers.

More details and photos on my blog!

Hope you all have a lovely day :o)

Eye Candy ♥

Good Morning Sugar Addicts.

Well we are back to snow again in my part of the UK. It fell thick and fast yesterday afternoon making the journey home from work a long one.
I am praying for Spring to arrive and to see some sunshine again!

As always, we have a fabulous selection of cards entered into the Sugar Bowl challenge and it's always a challenge for us to choose just one.

And so, this weeks Eye Candy badge is awarded to...

Nancy's card, using the image Hazel, is beautifully coloured and Nancy's perfect use of embellishments ties the card together wonderfully.
Look at all the mushrooms...on the papers, along the bottom border and the resin embellishment.
This little card packs a big punch!

Please take our badge Nancy and display it with pride ♥

Just a little reminder for you, Gayle is looking for some Guest Design team members.
If you are thinking of applying, then the closing date is tomorrow so you need to get your entries in before it's too late!
For full details see the post HERE ...I can't wait to see who will be picked.

Thanks for looking.

Hippie Chick

Hello Everyone! Jane here today and I have chosen one of my all time favourite Sugar Nellie stamps for my card this week. This gorgeous Simply Sassy stamp is called Hippie Chick and is available here from Funky Kits.

I coloured my image with Promarkers to match these gorgeous papers from My Mind's Eye from the Collectable Memorable pad and then cut her out leaving a small border. I created a simple layout and added stitching around the edges of each layer and a stamped sentiment on a die cut banner shape.

I added a bow tied from a pretty cream and pink ribbon and topped it with a wooden button and added lots of flowers from my stash. I finished with some pretty pink stick on gems. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

SOS - Save me a slice, yummmy

Sunday again, where does the week go. This past week of being on my own while the family went ski ing went particularly fast.

So with the suitcases waiting to be unpacked and the washing machine taking a wee panic to itself at the thought of what to come this weekend. I doubt that there will be much time for me to play with my new crafty purchases. Lots of word stamps, a few back ground and a special parcel from my second fav craft company., Papertrey Ink, arrived this week. Oh the plans I have for those things, my mind is an amazing place, it just has problems getting it idea to convert to my fingers.

Classes are filling up at work, I myself am teaching the new Hero Arts stamp camp once a month.
Cake classes once a month with our new tutor Lynne.
Kate gets a slot on a Saturday too
and that just leaves one Saturday in which we intent to teach small hand sewn projects.

Felt is hot, use it with your sizzix dies to cut out shapes that only need basic stitching.

I am loving Tilda too. So with those things in mind I search my favourite place, Pinterest and come away after hours of looking, with some great ideas that are all squeezed into my head, where  they will stay until needed.

With cake decorating tools arriving at work I so spend a lot of time drooling over celebrations cake out there and here for you today is a few of my favourites. Stick the kettle on and lets have a slice, oh so good, which one to start with or are they just too pretty to cut into?

I would like to share with you this Sunday (SOS) Lesley Wright of The Royal Bakery in San Jose, Northern California. Thee best fondant work, you just cant get better than this, she is there, she mastered it and is kind enough to share with those out there who have not quite got to that stage yet. Here are some of her fantastic, "oh no I could not cut into that", cakes and you can find Lesley and her many tutorials here

Pop across and see her amazing work, 38k likes cant be wrong!

take care

Karen

Saturday Shenanigans - A GDT Call

Proud to design for Sugar Nellie
Isn’t this a pretty little badge?

A very clever person made us these delightful badges to wear on our blogs!

I wonder,  who else would like to wear one of these on their blog?

Would you?

Well…….as I have just received our latest release ‘Bags Of Fashion’ I thought it might be fun to ask a few of you to join us for the launch as Guest Design Team Members

All that I ask is that you leave me a comment (please mark it PRIVATE, and it will not be published) stating that you’d like to be considered for a GDT spot.

(For obvious reasons this is only open to those who have their own blogs)

I shall leave this open until Friday 15th February at 7pm (GMT) and the lucky chosen ones will be announced here next Saturday.

I can’t wait to visit all of your blogs…..and remember, as we always say, you have to be in it to win it!

Oh soooooo exciting...

Fifi's Birthday Wishes

Good morning sweet friends.  Anita here today to share a card using one of the adorable Sugar Nellie Homegrown Collection images ...

I love all the gorgeous Sugar Nellie fairies!  I colored this image with copics and colored pencils and since I'm ready for the winter and cold temperatures to be over I used some sunny spring papers for my card.  I added a doily and then made some rolled flowers and popped a pearl into each one.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs, Anita

Raise A Glass And Celebrate!

Good Morning Sugar Addicts!

A new challenge has been posted on the Sugar Bowl blog today, and * insert drumroll* this will be the 100th challenge!

And of course we had to celebrate with a cake...if only on this fabulous card!

Kiki's card uses the image Let Them Eat Cake.
Beautiful colours and always perfectly embellished from Kiki.

Erika - aka Queen of the Digi's - has used one of the new Vintage Adorable images, Rachael.
Simply gorgeous and very much my favourite colours.

And the perfect male card from Fiona.
Anyone who can create a masculine card deserves a gold star in my eyes!
Men...such tricky devils they are lol!
Fiona has used the Simply Sassy image Number 1 fan and although I don't make cards for guys (nope, not ever) this has to be my favourite stamp for the job.

The challenge runs for a full 4 weeks so you'll have plenty of time to whip up a card or two, and as this is the 100th challenge there will be 2 winners chosen at random.
So..off you go, get inky and join in :)

Thanks for looking
Love Elaine xx

Flash - Oh so pretty

One quick flash on a wet and windy day, something for our sweet sugar addicts to colour as there is not much else to do in this weather.

One of the girls from Carla, available in rubber but a very quick flash of this digital stamp.

OOOPPPS SORRY YOU MISSED IT

Please respect the rules, TOU etc and this image is for you only, to be stored on your computer and NOT loaded online ANYWHERE. It's free from me to you but it not free for you to pass on.
If your friends want it, please send them here, I am happy to share with them too.

It only takes a few to spoil it for everyone else and the craft world is so small, no one can hide.
BUT I am lucky in that our small company is not open to the abuse and theft that the big guys get and we have an especially nice following who , by now know the difference between right and wrong.

So without further ado, get those pens out!
Colour this sweet girly pretty colours to match her style.
Karen

welcome Baby

Hello everyone!
This is Kathrin here today sharing a new card with you. It was made to welcome a newborn little girl on this planet: Theresa.

Our soon to be neighbour gave birth to a cute little girl last week and when I knew her name I went ahead to make this card for her to welcome her on earth:

I already knew they will have a girl and so I already had a plan what I wanted my card to look like. I wanted her name to be on it - but the first thing I knew was that I wanted to use

on my card.
This image exactly shows what a newborn looks like. I love the way she's lying there with her legs and arms tucked up like she was used to do the last months in her mum's belly. And I love that big hat on her tiny little head. I never saw a babyhat that really fit to a newborn...

I added a small pink pacifier, some lace and two little roses to the card. I wanted the focus to be on the name and the image.

Now all I need to do is find a little gift to hand out with the card. Guess the hardest thing will be to just choose one thing. I love shopping for babies and can hardly stop. =o)

Wishing all of you a wonderful and happy tuesday!
