So ..... today, the Sugar Nellie Spotlight is featuring ......... Joey!!! I am sure that lots of you will have heard of Joey, and are already familiar with her blog, if not you need to go and check it out here.

So here she is .. the fabby Joey, and this is what she has to say ( for all us nosy crafters out there ;) )

"I am sahm to two, my gorgeous girlie who is 9 and my beautiful boy is 5, and number 3 will be making an arrival sometime in february. I have always been arty and found cardmaking back in 2005, I didnt realise it would take over my life! and it has found me many gorgeous new friends! My fave things to do is stamping and colouring, I am still trying to master my colouring technique. I am also a sucker for pretty papers and have nowhere near as I want lol sorry, need!!"

Joey makes the most stunning cards!! I won't keep you in suspense any longer .... here is a selection of some of the MANY SN cards Joey has on her blog. - I think Joeys colouring is fab!!!

First up is this stunning easel card Joey made for her darling daughter for christmas. Isnt it just gorgeous and what a fab sentiment to Joey!! I love this card, its soo elegant with its sparkle and muted tones.

Next up is a stunning little card made ready for when baby number three arrives. I love the image on this one - as soon as baby is asleep you just know that her big sis is gonna want a cuddle!!! Fantastic card sweetie, and very pretty in pink!

I just knew i had to share this next card with you as soon as i found it on Joeys blog. The bright pink with the black is sooo striking it made the card stand out straight away. I love the way Joey has coloured the image ( fantastic shading on the hat sweetie!! ), and check out that polka dot bloom!! Beatuiful!!

The last card that i want to share with you is also pretty in pink - gotta thing for pink i think Joey ;). This time Joey has used gorgeous pastel tones, and has finished her card off perfectly with the stunning lace, ribbon and mini blooms.

It was sooo hard trying to pick just a few of Joeys cards to share - you really do need to go and check out her blog. It is FULL with fabulous creations!!

Thank you soo much for allowing me to highlight your work on the Sugar Nellie Spotlight this week Joey. It was a pleasure searching your blog for these gorgeous cards.

Firstly i wanted to share this stunning 50th Birthday card with you. I adore all the detailing that Marlene puts on her cards - just look at the torn paper laced up with, and in the pins in the bow at the bottom. Her attention to detail is second to none!! I loooove the paper piecing on the crown and the dress too. Its gorgeous sweetie!

This next project featres the same image. Marlene has used it to make a sleeve to hold some tags she made. Again i love the way she has paper pieced the hat and matched it with the bottom flower. Gorgeous detailing sweetie.

What is your New Years Resolution?

Well, we are now a few weeks into the New Year so I thought it would be the perfect time to ask about your New Years Resolutions!! We have had plenty of time to break them already haven't we! I have learnt from previous years NOT to make the silly mistake of " give up chocolate" I mean who can give up chocolate for a whole year!! Ridiculous resolution!! This year, I have decided that my New Years Resolution is to read more. I used to love reading, and I did a degree in English Literature ( I know - get me right?), but since having my two little ones and with a growing addiction to crafting I can rarely be seen sitting in the corner with a good book. So far I think I have only managed a chapter, but I have tried and thats all that matters.

Whilst mooching around the DT blogs i found these stunning projects that I just haaaaaad to share with you. Perfect for me with my New Years Resolution - I think I may be getting some of these babies myself!!!

I just love all Mary Halls images and Girl Reading is no exception. How cute is this little lady snuggled up in her bean bag chair. Oh what I would give to have a giant pink bean chair - how cozy is she with her book!!! Stunning card Donalda!!

Tiets has used an oldie on her project here. Its nice to have the new stash all the time, but isn't it a wonderful feeling when you find some old favourites. A Good Book is certainly one of my favourites!! I love the way Tiets has teamed the image with the 'perfect moment' sentiment. Stunning sample sweetie.

Lastly i have another of the Mary Hall cuties to share with you. Judy has used this cutie on his giant pillow reading his book, aptly named Boy Reading. This image reminds me sooo much of my little Ryan. He has just started wearing glasses and can ALWAYS be found reading books! Stunning sample Judy finished perfectly with the Imagine embellishment.

Well there was your little sugar fix for today, don't forget to let us all know YOUR resolutions!!!!

Who is in the first ever Sugar Nellie Spotlight?

Ok, i thought that it would be nice to try something new here on the Sugar Nellie blog so welcome to the very first Sugar Nellie Spotlight. I had a biiiiiiiiiig mooooch around ALOT of your blogs and finally decided that the first ever Sugar Nellie Spotlight will be on ......

drumroll ....

Bernie!!! So now, i would like you all to "meet" Bernie!!!!!

I asked Bernie to tell us all a few facts about herself ( lets face it - we are all nosy aren't we!! ), this is what she has to say .......

"I am a forty-something SAHW, married to Colin. Having no children means I can (and do!!) indulge in my creatie passion and when I'm not crafting I'm planning my next trip away ... next stop Florence!!

I enjoy teaching crafts, and have 3 different groups that I love to share techniques and tips with. I believe I get my crafty genes from my granny and enjoyed many happy crafty hours with her. I’ve been “fiddling” with cardmaking for approx 7 years now, but I wouldn’t like to show you any “creations” from yonder years!! Lol My all time favourite is rubber stamping….because it is so versatile….and my love is definitely for “cute” which is why I love Sugar Nellie images so much!"

I tried really hard to pick just a few of Bernies cards, but the more i looked through her blog the more cards i wanted to add, soooo i FINALLY settled on these beauties. To get a bit of variety i have tried to pick them from different ranges. I can not stress how much you NEED to visit her blog though. Her cards are all STUNNING and there are TONS of sweet Sugar Nellie cards over there too!!

I just had to share this first card with you. We are coming up to Valentines as I am sure you are all aware and well.. i LOVE this card!! It just proves that you don't need a vast stamp collection to be able to make all occasion cards. Its gorgeous Bernie!!

One of my all time favourite Sugar Nellie stamps would have to be this cutie!! I just love her and knew i would pick this card as soon as i saw it!! I LOVE the stitching on the card, it adds the perfect finishing touch don't you think!! Such a simple yet PERFECT card.

It is a well known fact that men and boys are near IMPOSSIBLE to make cards for!!! When i found such a perfect male card, it had to join my list of cards to share. I LOVE the sentiment that is teamed up with the image, Bernie's blog is full of quirky sentiments like this - a great source of inspiration!

This last card i have to share has amazing detail to it. I love the way that Bernie has masked off her stamps to make such a cute scene!! Not only is the gorjuss girlie leaning on the stump, her lil kitty is perched on it - perfect!!!

A long post today i know, but i am sure you will agree it is packed with gorgeous eye candy!! I would like to finish with a HUUUUUGGGEEEEE thank you to Bernie for agreeing to be in the Sugar Nellie spotlight. It has been an absolute pleasure showcasing your work here on the Sugar Nellie blog. As a little thank you to you sweeetie, i will be sending you the brand new 'i've been in the sugar nellie spotlight' banner for your blog. Please do go and check out Bernies blog, it is FULL of inspiration and the cutest cards.

Well thank you for staying with me on my loooong post and do remember to check back next Tuesday to see who is the next person in the Sugar Nellie Spotlight .. it could be YOU!!! hehe

Sweet little Home Grown Babies

Well, looking through all the DT blogs trying to choose cards to share is just soooo much fun but IMPOSSIBLE to choose!!!! I was going to share a few more digi fairy cards with you today, but decided on these FABULOUS babies instead. There aren't that many baby stamps out there in the world of crafting. I think the vintage feel that our baby stamps range here at Sugar Nellie has gives ours the edge don't you!! They are just stunning, and the cards I have chosen today are just beautiful, using the images for christening cards, first birthdays ... showing the stamps off to their FULL potential - well done DT!!!

The first card i would like to share with you today is by the fabulous Rowena. She has used Bubbles on this beautiful first birthday card. I just love the bright colours that she has used and the different textures the gems, pearls and ribbon add, perfect for a card for little ones!!

The last card i have to share with you today is by the wonderful Donalda. I just love the attitude this little baby has - how cool is she!!
