Candy Hop today

Just a little reminder that there are lots of new samples over on the SIMPLY SASSY blog and that the fantastic DT have not only been giving you a peek of what new stamps have been released but they are also having a BLOG HOP today at 12 GMT and for those polite enough to leave comments, a little sugar candy will be handed out.

This one is called Tammy and may not be the time for a little snowman stamp but you know how this trade works, if you love it,you grab it when you see it as when you need it, it will be sold out! And all my Scottish friends will know that Tammy is not only a girls name, but the hat she is wearing too, a little Scottish humour in there. Remember those magazines Tammy Girls, now i think the same thing in 2011 is called Moxi Girl, nothing much changes really.

I have been quiet in blog land but our amazing DT are still busy making and you need to keep an eye on their blogs to see great creations with all the new releases that Mark so busy loading on Friday he did not have time to post on the blog. A little shopping for some sweet stuff maybe? Ok come on over here .

House work for me today as I have not been home all week and I want to go play with my crafty friends tomorrow so had better be a good wifie today and earn some brownie points.
Have a great Saturday and enjoy the hop, a huge thank you to Maria and her team for all their hard work and amazing talent.

Karen

Dirty weekend in Birmingham

all that work and very dirty fingers not to mention a linen table cloth under the heat mat which will never be clean again!

We started with this goody bag of new products. ( this pic is from Dyan's blog.)

we finished with three deep 6" canvas's. YES I DO CRAFT!

Our "dirty hands on day" ended in the bar at the hotel with a few PI girlie's. A mystery tour around Birmingham and every one getting home eventually thanks to Marlene, thanks babe I Luv You, is that rrrrong?
The only sad point was that we missed a certain someone as she is knee deep in the sh*te that life has thrown at her lately. We missed you Gayle. xx

Today is the first day of the trade show at NEC, I have no idea whats on my shopping list, I don't think there are any new products out there, just more of the same.
I will be taking my slippers with me as my feet will never last all day, bets are I will have the heals off by coffee time.
take care

It raining cute kids

Today I am showing off this fabulous pair from MARY HALL.
Splish splosh and Ella's Umbrella
My brain is buzzing with idea on how to use two stamps on one project, but these are
equally cute to use on their own, they are both sold as single stamps so the choice, as always, is yours.
Mary has the talent to keep it cute and they are so easy to colour what ever medium you use.

Leave me some sweetness and I will share out the candy to our loyal and much appreciated followers,
you know girls that your comment and support that keeps me going right?

Now I am having a lazy morning, trying to schedule post while I am away and get some of the washing done  so the kids don't have to resort to wearing their fancy dress costumes while I am away LOL
Into the HOS after lunch to catch up with one of our suppliers as there are many of them choosing not to show at the NEC this weekend.
My roots are done and I have some new clothes to dress up in as I am usually in jeans and hoodies.

Any one else heading to Birmingham this weekend ?

take care Karen x

Down at the bottom of the garden

"Grow your own"

"Best of show"

Opps they have come out tiny! Desk top publishing is not my forte.
It's hard enough for me to get the writing over the top of them.

So "his and hers" gardening stamps,
great for those couples that spend time down at the bottom of the garden.
I can imagine all those gate fold cards or how about a double twisted easel.
Something that requires a pair of stamps,
well this is only the first of  our new co ordination pair of stamps from  MARY HALL, available soon.

Congratulations girls send you info to Mark info@funkykits.co.uk and he will send you your winnings.

My peace is shattered, and not home 24 hrs and DH tells me he is off to St Andrews for the National Farmers Union AGM, right that's code of a boys only "adventure". So I have not even unpacked the ski stuff and his suits have to be packed for a couple of night away. So I feel no guilt at all for leaving him with the kids and going to Birmingham this weekend!

Sunday also sees a new challenge over on the facebook group, if you search for SUGAR NELLIES you should find us.
Remember to check out what the DT are up to as they do have new stamps, also the SIMPLY SASSY blog is rockin'. Maria and her girls are for ever coming up with great crafting ideas, don't miss out links are on the side bar.

****

Oh girls you are so spoilt by inspirational cards and projects this weekend,, after a week of peeks and being totally teased lets see if you return to your craft space and make something sweet this weekend.
There is a new challenge up at the SUGAR BOWL (our very own challenge blog) and Gayle's SWEETIES have once again done a brilliant job in creating sweet cards for your inspiration.
AND the prize, oh my who does not want SIX brand new SWEET stamps to play with?

************

That's not all, Maria is having so much fun with her SIMPLY SASSY DT, those girls put in so much work, be sure to visit and leave a comment, you have no idea how important it is to know and feel that your work is appreciated and that you are not talking to yourself.

Don't miss this box tutorial by Kathrin which is ideal for your valentine sweetie box or even Easter chocolate treat.

*************

Facebook, girls you rock, there is a growing community of lovely sugar addicts who make the most amazing card with their favourite stamps. There is a group challenge posted by Fiona each week and the girls really so step up to the challenge and its uplifting for me to see everything they make. Especially first time posters, I know how daunting it is to put your makes out there and finding the confidence to try something new, but we all started somewhere and its the only way forward.

*********
My last day alone in the big empty house, the joiners are finished and I even painted the office! Now tonight I have to put it all back together, the computers were all set up last night and I am so relieved that after all that unplugging and moving they still work. I had better empty the washing baskets as they are going to return with enough ski gear to keep me busy for all of next week.

The demo in our store is on tomorrow, we welcome ERIKA from Personal Impressions to the House of Sugar, I have some supplies home to make a few samples in pink and brown, yum yum, oh those ribbons are just lush.

Friday is Marks posting day but I in so he will post tomorrow.
Until then, have a great Friday and don't hold back on the cruchies :)

Totally ADORABLE

Does this image melt your heart?

Have you any idea how hard it was to choose a the naked baby poses?
I could not make up my mind between "curled up" or  "frog" pose LOL,
and a hat was needed just so you can do pink or blue.

One day, a few years from now I hope, when I gain the title of Granny, I am taking my grandchild to a studio and have them pose all day long.

It was so hard to choose, I hope you agree with me that this image is something special and the detail can only be justified in a digi image. Our artist took a long time and many different sketches before we agreed that this was the one.

Totally Adorable, un named unisex new born.
Can you just smell the baby powder?

Karen

Just so ADORABLE

Look at this little darling, ain't she sweet, I wish my girls had beautiful hair like that when they were young.
Another SIMPLY ADORABLE ( so well named ) digi stamp which will be available 1st March at Funkykits

Now that's three out of four I have shown and you know the way it work, the best is always kept till last, when I say best, my favourite.
The artist had her hands full with the next one, which you will see tomorrow, really she needed a live model to pose, but that was not going to happen.
So we turned to the Internet where there were over 1 million pictures on this subject alone, on a copyrite free site, I could not believe how many pictures there were and that was just one site!.
Do we really have any idea how BIG the Internet is.
Then I had to decide what type of pose I wanted, oh the choices, my heart just melts when I look at them. Ok no more clues........see you all tomorrow :)
Karen

One more Adorable girl

Hello and good morning to you all, here we have a peek at the second SIMPLY ADORABLE digi image from the March release, there are 4 in total which will be available in digi only this time and as a figure or just the heads.

Right that's me off to the house of sugar HOS to do some prep work for Glasgow SEC as in between that I have an in store demo on the 12th at PAPERCRAFTS in ELGIN, then the NEC in Birmingham to visit the following weekend and then my time has ran out, where do the weeks go?

With the family away for a week its that time of year when I try to do some jobs around the house and yesterday found me lifting carpets and underlay ready for the new flooring in my husbands office. Then I decided that I might as well paint the room and had to get up early today to go over everything in good day light. Now I am late for work, good job no one keeps tabs on me! I think I might even have a lunch date with our Personal Impressions demonstrator, Erika. :)
Have an inky day girls, and these new images are still to be named, any ideas?

Simply Adorable news....

Simply Adorable images have been a work in progress since the summer of 2010. There was no doubt that the artwork was in a league of its own but changing a design into rubber has its restrictions, in rubber its either black or white, no shades of grey.
In sending the exact same image to the factory and comparing it with the same in digi form gave us a few options. The faces worked but the figures did not do the art work justice in rubber, so only  faces were made in rubber.

Having sat down with the artist and then with Mark at Funkykits we have decided that the second release of Simply Adorable at the start of March will be digi only.

The financial implications of only selling digi via Funkykits restricts our sales options and will there for reflect in the price.
There will be figures and faces, those of you who know how to work desk top publishing will realise that in buying the figure you can get both. For those of you who are still learning computer skills we will leave up the faces only. The choice is yours. This is now reflected in the price and will effect the first four figures too.

These digi images come in black line only not coloured, a few of you have been confused by the coloured images show as samples. We are working on coloured images pre printed and will keep you updated on that.

So I will leave you with this little man, SIMPLY ADORABLE dont you agree?
Karen

Little Farmer

A little farmer for all those little boys who scoots about on wheels out side in the bonnie days.
For those little boys who are happy to play for hours in a pile of ground or chippies with a toy loader and a digger. Wellie boots and boiler suits at the ready for when they grow up they want to be a farmer!
I have one of these boys, he's not so little now, at 11 hes fast growing as tall as me and eats like you would not believe, but skin and bones he still is. He has moved on to big toys now and drives the real thing, as he moves up the the academy this summer we can no longer think of him as our little boy. I am sure there are still a few broken down toy tractors about the farm, long forgotten and left for scrap a reminder for days when one little boy played away happily with anything made by Bruder.

If you would like a chance at taking home this wee lad
leave me some sugar and I will hand him over to one of you lucky followers.

Introducing......

Little Boots from our Country Cousins range
Ok so this is clearly not a DT sample, its not even glued together and marks out of 10 for colouring?
But you can see how sweet this image is and the picture is not worth anything.

Little boots, do you think that's the dogs name or anything to do with the two pairs of boots he will be needing to put on him to go walkies with this cute little girl?

Want to win her as candy?
She is at the factory but is due to be with us next week, unless it keeps snowing and the world grinds to a halt again.*rolls eyes*
If you are a follower, leave me a comment and
I will gladly give LITTLE BOOTS a new home with one of you.

****

Snow is falling again and I have just said my goodbyes to my family who are away with friends ski ing in France for a week, peace for me, just enough time to get the house back together again and a few odd jobs done before they are back with suitcases of washing.

stay warm and take care
Karen

A little problem

Last time I counted we had 22 new stamps at the factory and I intended to give you a peek of most of them this week, but we have been notified that we need to protect our images more and there for until I can disable "right click and save" options, you will have to wait a little longer. Its sad that people are abusing artwork and that we can not post freely without taking so much action to protect ourselves. Enough said.

So I will show you my picks from our Dt blogs this week, our team are amazing and there work is first class, who would not love to receive a hand made card as pretty as any of  these?

Maya used Spread your wings from SIMPLY SASSY on this beautiful card

A very striking card, Tiets used a digi image from SIMPLY ADORABLE range

Judy has used In a While from our Leanne Ellis range to create a piece of art in itself

Alison has used Skater Girl from SIMPLY SASSY to create a clean and fresh look

Over on the SIMPLY SASSY blog there has been candy and two new guests, remember to jump over and read all the news and keep up to date with all that's SASSY.

I am so impressed with the challenge over on Facebook,
its great to see people try new things and loving them!

So its a Candy free day for the time being but I will be back as soon as I have learnt something new.
Wish me luck!

Karen
