Heavenly Angel

Good morning, Fi here!

Now here we have another one of the new toppers from Sugar Nellie....gorgeous isn't it??  They come with several on the sheet...they are sooooo adorable and will available soon.

You can also get this cutie in rubber and she's called Heavenly Angel.

The papers were in my stash, I die cut the topper and layered it onto the snowflake doily.  I cut out some snowflakes and covered them in glitter.  I added pearls to the centres of the snowflakes.

Remember to check out our challenge over on the Sugar Bowl.

Pop back for more sugar inspiration tomorrow.

Floral Ladies ----

--- Good morning sugar fans ---

Janine here today to share my card with you.

For my card this week I really wanted to use a digi stamp from our new collections called 'Floral Ladies'. These are so fabulous to colour, and on my card I decided not to over embellish it because I wanted to concentrate on colouring her in.  I used Copic markers and a few pencils to add a little extra dimension.  The collection of Floral Ladies are all equally as beautiful, and you'll definitely find something you like and will enjoy using them - you can find them all at Funkykits here

After colouring my topper I added a touch of glitter to the flowers and some gold pen to her fan, and then I matted and layered it onto coloured card stock and then onto my A5 white card base. To finish off I added a few gems.

For more details of everything I used please check out my blog here.

Thanks for dropping by, and don't forget to call by tomorrow to see more cards from
my fab teamies.

Hugs

Welcome our guest Lorraine

Hi, my name is Lorraine Collett and I live in the East of England.
I am a 49 year old mother of two grown up daughters and have a very supportive husband who understands my crafty obsession.
I have been creating cards for friends and family for about eight years now but have only been colouring my own images since starting my blog about a year ago.
I discovered lots of challenge blogs out there and started buying digital images to colour for my card entries to these challenges. One of the first companies I bought from was Sugar Nellie,
their images are so cute and sweet and they really appealed to me.
I was so excited to be asked to do a GDT spot here at Sugar Nellie after entering their recent competition and have really enjoyed working with the images that I was given to play with.

I started with this beautiful Geisha image and decided to move away from the traditional Oriental colours of red, black and gold and use this, more floral inspired combination instead.
Recipe
7” x 7” card blank
‘Geisha’ image – Funky Kits Shop
Promarkers
Digital papers
Papermania Oriental Stamps
Beads and findings from stash
I matted the image on several layers of coloured card to match the matting on the background and tie it all together.
The Oriental symbols are from a Papermania stamp set that I have stamped and embossed with black embossing powder and made a type of scroll by rolling
up the two ends and placing a hanging bead arrangement from it to match the decoration in the Geisha’s hair.
My second project...

...is an altered box.
I was given the image ‘Love Letters’ to play with and thought about creating a keepsake box to hold precious memories and letters, maybe from a loved one.
Recipe
Kraft box
‘Love Letters’ Image – Funky Kits Shop
Promarkers
My Minds Eye papers ‘Adventure’
Recollections Dimensional letters
White Satin Ribbon
Gemstone brad
Spellbinders die – Floral Ovals
Sue Wilson die – Faux Quilled Leaves
La La Land Crafts die – Filigree Corner
Wooden ‘Memories’ buckle
Flowers – Wild Orchid Crafts and Prima
This image was so much fun to colour.
I cut it out and mounted it in the Spellbinders Floral frame and inked and glittered around the edges.
All the design papers were also inked on the edges and layered up to make panels for covering the box.
I hope you enjoyed reading my post as much as I enjoyed creating with these lovely images and I would like to thank Karen and the Design Team for inviting me to join them in this guest spot.
Thank you for welcoming me here today,

Hugs,
Lorraine

Wish Upon A Star...

Hi All

Christine here with you today... and I'm back amongst my favourite creatures... the fairies!

Today I've used 'Wish Upon a Star' - she has to be one of my favourite fairy images - as I've used her quite often!  This time I wanted to use pink (unusual for me - NOT!) - but I wanted to keep the pink very delicate... so brought out the colour by shading around the image, rather than colouring the image strongly itself.

She's coloured with Copics...  and I've used a Marianne Craftables Die and a Noor Design border die.  Pop over to my blog HERE for more details.

'Wish upon a Star' is available as a digi image from Funky Kits by clicking on the link below which will take you straight there....

Thanks for looking today - do call by tomorrow to see more gorgeous inspiration...

Hope you have a lovely day..

More hands make light work

Good morning, Fi here and I'm here we are with my Wednesday post!

Now here we have one of the new toppers from Sugar Nellie....gorgeous isn't it??  They come with several on the sheet...they are sooooo adorable and will available soon.

You can also get this cutie in digi format from Funky Kits and she called More hands make light work.

The papers are Basic Grey Evergreen, which are really pretty IRL!  I layered the papers onto bazzill card and doodled around the edges.. The flowers are a mix of pre made ones and my little poinsettia die. I also added red ribbon tied in a bow.  I then added some teeny pearls to finish off.

Remember to check out our challenge over on the Sugar Bowl.

Pop back for more sugar inspiration tomorrow.

Welcome our guest Debs

My names Deb's and i'm a craftoholic...lol...I live in Barnsley, South Yorkshire and have 2 children aged 14 and 11 and 3 furry babies too.

I've always been a little bit crafty and started out with cross stitch which i still like to do, I've also played around with decoupage but since joining blog land in 2009 and buying my first sugar Nellie stamps…I've travelled a very creative journey with alcohol markers. I mostly colour with Copic's now but still like to give my faithful promarkers an airing from time to time. I wouldn't say i have a specific style just that I love to colour.

For my first card I have used one of the new floral ladies which will be available soon from Funky Kits.

For this card I have used "Heavenly Angel"...isn't she gorgeous??

I have used "Peace Angel" for my last card

Thanks so much.

Florals...

Good morning sugar fans, Fi here with your Friday posting!

Hope you are well!

Now I am sharing this wee card which I made using one of the new digi floral images...isn't she sweet??  You can buy her soon from Funky Kits.

I coloured this little sweetie with spectrum noirs and did a bit of shading with polychromos.  The papers are from LOTV...thought they looked well with the floral digis...yes that's right, there's more!!  I layered the papers and distressed each of the layers and doodled of course.  I added a piece of light blue lace to one of the layers, the flowers and leaves have been cut with die-namics dies.

Pop back tomorrow for some more inspiration.

Belle Flower

Good morning everyone ----

Janine here to share a bit of sugary love with you today. For my card this week I decided to not to do too much colouring and instead paper piece this beautiful stamp. Isn't she gorgeous - the stamp is called 'Belle Flower' and she's available to buy from Funkykits here.

The main image was stamped onto blue patterned paper, and then onto Neenah cardstock so I coloured her hair and skin in with Copic markers. The image was stamped again onto 2 different patterned papers, and then all the parts were cut out and glued into place on the main image. To finish off I added die cut flowers, gems and a touch of glitter.

For more details of everything I used please check out my blog here.

Thanks for dropping by, and don't forget to call tomorrow to see more cards from my fab teamies.

Something I spied

Good morning sugar fans, it's Fi here with your Wednesday inspiration!!

Not my own inspiration...I really haven't had time this week as I have been a bit under the weather so I popped over to the Sugar Bowl and I spied this little cutie!

Sheila has used Rosie on her card, now Rosie is available in either digi of rubber which is great for any colouring technique.  Sheila has used the rubber version and coloured the image with prisma pencils...isn't it lovely!!

Now pop over to the Sugar Bowl Challenge and check out how to enter this months challenge....

Remember there's lots of new images available at Funky Kits, and there should be the latest launch added this week...you don't want to miss them.

A little sneak peak....

Hi Sugar Fans

Christine here today...  and I have a little sneak peak for you!!

This is a one of the new digi images soon to come from Sugar Nellie and Funky Kits.... not quite available as yet... but watch this space and you'll see them appear soon!

She was SO FABULOUS TO COLOUR with my Copics...  and luckily, I had some Japanese Origami paper tucked into one of my stash drawers - so I used that and some gold mirri card for the background.  See?  It pays to keep hold of things for years and years - they finally DO come in handy!! hehe

I used a gold fine pen on the image too....  but the camera hasn't picked it up that well..  such a shame!

If you want more details - hop over to my blog HERE.

Big sugary hugs

Welcome our guest - Nancy

And a little about me:
Hello Sugar Nellie fans. I am Nancy Thomas and my blog is Creative Palette. Although I’ve traveled and lived temporarily in other places for work purposes, my permanent home is in the state of Alabama in the US. I am married to my husband Don and between us we have three grown children and six grandchildren.
I have been a crafter of some sort practically all my life. I discovered the world of paper crafting in 2002 after looking through my beloved grandmother’s photo box a few weeks after she passed away. I always used stamps in my scrap booking endeavors but turned primarily to stamping via card making in 2010 when I became interested in alcohol ink markers. I serve on several design teams, including as a “sweetie” on The Sugar Bowl blog.

The first card features the Time Together image, one of the sweet Sugar Nellie fairies. I cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities and then colored with Copic Markers, adding Ranger Diamond Stickles to the wings for a bit of shimmer.I combined this beauty with patterned papers from the Doodlebug Frosty Friends pad. The sentiment from the My Favorite Things Clearly Sentimental about Christmas set was stamped onto a double ended banner. Two snowflakes cut with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Snowflakes dies topped with Doodlebug Enamel Dots finished it up.

My second card features the new Love Songs image which is part of the Furry Friends collection. I am really loving these little guys. After cutting the image out the image with a pierced die from My Favorite Things, I colored him up with Copics. I combined him with paper from the Studio Calico Brighton Pier pad. I cut the small tag from scraps and then attached to the card with a button and thread which I wrapped around the card base. The sentiment came from The Cat's Pajamas The Tweetest Things set.
