Memories...

Hello sweet friends and fellow "sugar" lovers!! It's me, Pat Frank! And I'm here with another Sugar Nellie DT project! This one is for a sad reason...it's a Sympathy card. I don't know about you, but I always have such a difficult time making sympathy cards! This card is for a friend of ours who lost his elderly mother last week.

Two of my least favorite kinds of cards to make..."Sympathy" and cards for guys!! But I have to admit, this sweet Sugar Nellie stamp named "Worried" by Kathy Hare seemed perfect for today's card. You can find this darling stamp HERE at Funky Kits.

I colored this little guy with Copics and colored pencils (my usual)...and then added a few embellishments! Yes, even flowers. I couldn't help it...they just seemed to work. Here's another sort of "artsy" pic...

And that's it for me...I'm off to drop this in the mail. I hope you've enjoyed looking at my latest Sugar Nellie project!! If you'd like more info on this card plus a look at a couple more pics, please visit my blog HERE!!

Have a beautiful week, my lovelies!! Hugs...until next time.

SOS- Discount Code

Happy May day weekend to anyone in the mood for an excuse to celebrate a long weekend.
Some business are closed other carry on as normal.
I think this year we will have Monday off, it's forecast for a nice day and we don't see many of those.

My good news this week, we had Erika Gunter back in the demonstrator's chair in Elgin, show casing georguss cards made with supplies from Personal Impressions.

My bad news, DHL sent in the import tax bills for three small boxes.
I am not happy and am reminded that nothing is going in the favour of the small retailers at the moment,
we want go give our customers a better selection of product,
we want to be competitive in the market.
But no, we are swimming against the tide.

Sugar Nellie artist are working on slow at the moment, nothing new reached my desk yet.

Funkykits have had a few deliveries but need to clear space before putting them in their catalogue.

With that in mind, here is their code for a bank holiday discount on
Personal Impressions Gorjuss range of stamps

 MAYDAY

{a gentle reminder to international buyers
 to keep their order below 10 stamps for standard postage costs and no hold ups.}

I hope the sun shines on you this bank holiday and that you find yourself with an extra day off work.

take care

Saturday Shenanigans - A Design Team Call

Good Morning Everyone!

I hope you are all feeling well this Saturday morning?

I am tucked up in bed, full of whatever 'lurgy' my girls had last weekend.

So I am keeping today's post short and oh, so very sweet!

Would you like to become a member of our team here at Sugar Nellie?

Would you like to wear this gorgeous badge on your blog?

Yes, I am looking for a new Sweetie (or two)!

The Sugar Bowl is our Challenge Blog and the Design Team members are called 'Sweeties' and they're a happy and highly valued part of our team here.

As a Sweetie, you will be expected to provide one card (or other craft project), per month, for The Sugar Bowl.

Occasionally you may be asked to join in with new launches or other projects which may crop up from time to time.
However, this will be on a purely voluntary basis.

So, if you feel you would fit the bill, I ask that you leave me a comment on this post marked 'private' with a link to your blog, and a little of why you might like to join our team.

Closing date for applications is Friday, May 10th at 7pm (GMT)

Now, if you're feeling a little better than I am this weekend, why don't you dig out some of your Sugar Nellie's and get crafting?

If you do, please feel free to show us your creations, either, on our Facebook page and in The Sugar Bowl….as there are fabulous prizes to be won!

Enjoy your weekend!

Pawsitively Terrific

Good morning sweet friends!  I hope you've had a wonderful week.  I have one of Sugar Nellie's adorable male images to share with you today.

This handsome boy is called Pets Corner and he's from the Home Grown Manga collection.  Isn't he a cutie sitting there with his pets?  I colored him with my copics and colored pencils and then fussy cut him.  I used an embossing folder on my matted circle and added some brads, twine and a button.  It's been a very long time since I've used any brads on a card.  Why is it that when new embellishments come along, we tend to forget about our old ones?  I still have lots of brads in my stash so I think I'll make an effort to try to use them more often :)  You can find this sweet stamp and the rest of the gorgeous Sugar Nellie stamps over at Funky Kits.

Thank you so much for dropping by for a visit.  I hope you have a fabulous weekend.

Hugs, Anita

Self Indulgence

Good Morning Sugar Lovers :)

Today we have a new challenge posted over on the Sugar Bowl with the theme of 'anything goes'.
You are not limited to making a card, although I'm sure we all need a steady stream of cards...I certainly do!

What else could you create?
A decorated candle, I've been wanting to have a bash at making one of these for a long while.
A tissue box cover.
A door hanger or wall plaque.
A scrapbook layout or Smash page.

The possibilities are endless, the only rule is that you must use a Sugar Nellie image.

Today I am being a little self indulgent  and showing you three of my favourite images.

A stunning card from Louise with my favourite Sassy image Bella Bunting.
I always love Louise's cards...amazing colouring, pretty papers, the perfect amount and choice of embellishments..and she can sew too!

Fiona has used my all time favourite stamp Pippi Longsocks...but of course you know that already, right?
My favourite colours too..blues and greens..it's almost perfect Fi, just needs you to write my name in it :)

And our Sugar Mama Gayle has used the ever-so-cute image Peek-A-Boo, an image perfectly suitable for any little girl...or any big girl for that matter (and perfectly suitable for me..I LOVE that little kitty!)

Come on then..pick your favourite Sugar Nellie image, grab your pens and pencils and join in with our challenge.

Thanks for looking
Love Elaine xx

SOS- Clearance Idea

Good morning crafters, I hope this morning finds you well and ready for a lovely Sunday.
It's a day off for me as I was teaching yesterday, a lovely two classes in the Elgin store where all went well and the class went home motivated to try something a little new.

As a crafter ideas are what we search for, but rarely get around to doing everything we want, time is always against us. I am just the same, if I see a product that I like, I must search for a find it. I just buy more than one at a time. If I love it, I need it, oh the addictive nature of a crafters!

I have so many idea's for samples and classes. Magazine feature too, all these things means my brain does not stop (on the down side I have no life out with crafting).
Over the years I have been lucky to be able to put some of my ideas into practice, some never see the light of day but when some one else does it I think " oh I thought of doing that but just never got around to it".

I will let you into a little secret, call it research....

I have often been green when I see the clearance sites in USA offering great deals to crafters. I remember Scenic Route made such a good job of clearing their own products that they started clearing other big paper names via their online store. Remember that?
Recently Scrapbook Steals have been offering a mixed back of One Time Only deals on bundles of matching products but even with a USA postal address, shipping kills the bargain.

Is there anything like this in the UK?
I am looking at quality, co ordinating products
not a bag of miss matched sweepings off the warehouse floor.!

GREAT DEALS

I have access to these great deals, it is a shame about UK postage cost especially with something larger and heavy, but the girls over on crafty sellers on FB have opened my eyes to other courier services which are not so expensive as the Post Office.

If all this comes together, it will be small time.
I ain't buying big numbers of something in this economic climate
it would finish me off completely if it went wrong!

You have always given me good advice, I always listen.

Tell me your thoughts while I play with other aspects that have to figure in this equation.

I may be tempted to combine this idea with another that floats around in my mind of much empty space.

MONTHLY KITS

A monthly kit with a variety of different crafts allowing you to try something that maybe you would not generally go for. Not having to buy a complete packet of something just to make a few of them saves a lot and if the box has a theme and a few ideas thrown in there I believe if its fun, value for money and quality goodies it might just stand a chance out there in the crafting world.

This is my Share On Sunday, may ideas but only one pair of hands. I hope your day sees some projects which may get finished. Remember to come on over to our FB group and share any Sugar Nellie cards that you do, we love to see you being creative.

Have a good day

Karen
