Ebay madness

It is with astonishment that we watch this auction site, mostly to stop infringement of our Angle Policy by notifying sellers that it is not OK to sell stamped images, most sellers comply, after all ebay take copyright matters very seriously and no good seller wants to be reported now do they?

But this week we watch with wonder at the people who have been buying up multiple amount of one of our Gorjuss stamps(maybe this is why it's always sold out) and are auctioning them off. How much do you think people will pay for something that, with a little patience, they can buy at a realistic price?

Patience, that's a hard one for most folks, its hard I know to have to wait for something that you really want, but I would never think about emailing Stephanie Meyers to ask her when her next book will be finished, where can I buy it, how much will it sells for in £'s, how long will it take to arrive by post............. all good things come to those who wait. {I am still loving her books second time around by the way}

My younger kids ordered games off the Internet yesterday and they both ran home from school to ask if they were here yet, patience, the order was only placed yesterday, but at 6 and 10 they just cant wait until tomorrow or the next day.

But I was please to know that it only took 5 days for a Funkykits order to arrive in Canada, that's great news,
but unusual. Netherlands has the worst track record for longest delivery times in Europe but they do eventually turn up.

I have a lot of new sneaky peeks to show you once I can protect the image with our logo, sad I know but it's better to protect now rather than have a repeat of the episode of a forum sharing our images for you to print as you like, not good.

Country Cousins will be online tomorrow, later on in the day, I know that there has not been a newsletter for a long time, but being short staffed we have to prioritise our work load for now.

Enjoy the rest of your evening, I have a function to attend, do you think I can take my book with me?

I've discovered that people can often be quite silly when it comes to eBay. (shaking head)

I'm doing my very best to be patient and wait for the Cousins to arrive. :) I'm only checking Funky Kits once a day...mostly.

As for shipping, I can pretty much count on my order arriving on my door step in Oklahoma 6 days after I see the "dispatched" notice in my email.

I'm so sorry that's happening to you! Most people just don't understand copyright laws and will usually comply once it's explained. Other people just don't care and that's frustrating!
Best wishes!

I know what you mean, I nearly fell of my chair when I saw how much people where bidding on them.
As for stamped images, I don't know how you feel about swapping between friends as alot of the time I end up buying stamps because of this. But selling stamp images I think is the same as ripping someone off.

I've been following that you read the twilight books. Have you read the unpublished Midnight sun? Go to SM site if you haven't. It's on there to read. It's Edwards Version of the 1st book. Might help you get your fix and if that doesn't work. Find a friend who will chat with you about it in detail.lol

Don't talk to me about ebay - sore point at the moment - seems to be full of money grabbers!

I understand people wanting their product fast and at a fair price...which is exactly why I order from Funky Kit and also tell everyone who will listen how woderful you are. Keep up the amazing job you're doing! I am yours! LOL

Great news about Country Cousins - I've been waiting (very patiently - I'm a good girl, he he!) for these cuties to be released. And I'm so sorry to hear about the troubles Sugar Nellis has with Ebay. As my husband says, Ebay is an ugly monster that is now so big it's almost impossible to regulate. I believe the blame lies not only with those scrupleless (is that a word? LOL!) sellers, but also with those who keep these sellers in business. After all, if they didn't hav any customers, then they would have to stop selling! I know some crafters can't afford to buy every new stamp as they are released, but others shouldn't be making profit from people's lack of finances. Okay, rant over! (I could talk about this all day!). As you can tell, I really dislike Ebay!! LOL! x

I think its outrageous that people would want to behave in this manner. I think most crafters are aware of the Angel policies and this is pure greed. Though I cant wait to see what new goodies you have and hope to be one of the 1st in the queue!!!

Ive also seen these images for sale, and cannot believe that people are doing it to be honest? and the price they cahrge too, totally ridiculous.
So if anyone is thinking of buying any on ebay DONT! you are better off buying your own stamp and doing it yourself, i hope that you can stop these people from selling them on there as it is getting slightly daft to say the least!

My goodness, some people have cheek. I would say that I can't believe what some people will do...but sadly I can. I think part of the fun of ordering is the anticipation. I use the time to plan what stamp I'll ink up first and what papers and colors I will use. I never have to wait all that long and it is such fun to find the little package from the UK in my mail-box! Can't wait to order some of the new ones! Hugs Jeanette

I totally agree with you. I have been after a particular Gorjuss girl for a while now (prob the one in question). I have been emailed each time it is back in stock only to find when I manage to get onto the site (ie after work, while kids are quiet etc) that it is sold out. It really makes me mad that people do this with items as they dont really want them, they just want to make a quick buck. They have the same problem as this with concert tickets.

oh dear Karen, it must be terribly frustrating - and I guess its tantamount to stealing really.

I am on my last hardback book I got for xmas and then I plan on re-reading the Twilight books again, this might sound a bit sad (or even mental) but I think about Bella and Edward a lot since finishing Breaking Dawn *shuffles off to hide*

It's mad how much certain stamps can go for-sometimes it's when they're instock too!! On the other hand I don't have much patience either but it's all part of the excitement-speaking of which I can't wait for the country cousins tomorrow!!!!!!! Wohoo!! Have barely gotten over my excitment from the gorjuss girls set 2 arriving-it's all too much! Hope your kiddies goodies come soon for them. Hugs, Rowena xxx

have just been onto eBay because I'm incredibly nosey and I'm surprised there are so many stamped images are available. what I also noticed was there were a lot of "toppers" being sold - are those against the angel policy too? or they allowed?

Carol Ann said...

I'm sorry to hear people are selling images on ebay it is completely wrong and shouldn't be allowed to happen I for one would not encourage them by buying a stamped image from ebay or anywhere else.

Courtney said...

It's totally disgusting that people do that. You may have to put a limit on how many stamps can be purchased of the same type. As for taking your book - go for it! I love the Twilight series and have already watched the movie twice since picking it up 3 days ago!! Edward - *sigh* LOL

So of course I had to go look for myself. I'm sure you've already found this one http://cgi.ebay.com/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280340074668 but just in case.....
Incredible!!

These people who buy multiples are really awful. They do the same with sale stuff - buy in bulk to sell on ebay and then there is nothing left for genuine customers and as for the stamped images. That drives me mad - the Penny Black are everywhere on Ebay - very annoying.

You're right it is such an infringement on the copyright laws. And so sad for those that abide and wait patiently including the suppliers. Some people have no scruples.

I wouldn't even think of doing anything to infringe these rules. I'm desperate for Miss Anyas, but shall be going via the correct binefide stockists/sellers.

I have always had superb service and delivery within the UK.

I'm not much of a reader, except magazines, but my favourite stamps at the moment are my beautiful Gorjuss Girls what else!!!

Best wishes.

There is about 10 listings with Gorjuss girls images for sale on Ebay today. I did report all of them, but they are still there. Think it's the same person. Shameful that!xoxox

How very frustrating, and I'm sorry you are having to deal with that. : (

I have pre-ordered both sets of Gorjuss girls and they have always come within a week after I get the "shipped" email. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas until they arrive...I love the anticipation!

I'm looking forward to seeing the Country Cousins tomorrow!!

Unless you have been "cheated" by this sort of thing you don't appreciate how it feels. I only have one Gorjuss and one Nellie and that is the way it will have to stay for a while :( till I have some spare money! I took my time in choosing the stamps I thought I could get the most variation from in my craft work....and I love them......as you mentioned in your previous post....patience, patience!
