SOS - Inspired by Danielle

Good morning sugar addicts, rise and shine it's Sunday.

Traditionally a day of rest, big family lunches and maybe a visit to the house of God.

How times have changed, just a few generations later everyone does something different. I am working today, teaching an over booked class in Oldmeldrum so I will be hitting the road soon in order to be there for the doors opening and have a couple of hours checking stock and laying out the class room before I teach NOEL, our first class of the season using papier mache letters decorated for Christmas. (if your local don't forget next Saturdays demo in Oldmeldrum, we have the fantastic Kate Mellis showing us all what's what when it comes to simply stylish cardmaking)

There does not feel to be such a buzz over Christmas crafting this year, the weather is still nice here in Scotland and no sign of winter, the ranges of seasonal papers and embellishments that I like are fewer than in past years. In classes we are leaning towards showing you the many ways to use products rather than the many product you need. People are cutting back and I always believe that the more ways you can use something the more essential it becomes to your crafting tool box.

What has been your favourite paper range for this Christmas?

Inspiration, we can't get enough of it. We do our bit in the store with regular demonstrations, {thanks Jenny for your hard work on Saturday, the ladies of Elgin sure did get a few new ideas to go home and play with}

Our blog shows off the best DT around, all with amazing crafting skills that they are happy to share with you. Both the challenges on the Sugar Bowl and the Facebook group (The Official Sugar Nellie Group) are there for you to share with others. Inspiration all around us but I am a little lazy and spend most of my surfin time on Pinterest.

Over there, there are endless ideas and styles and one member that has caught my eye is Danielle Daws,
I don't know much about her other than she has an awesome collection of cards and too many boards to follow. She does love her Gorguss girls and if you have not completed your collection of these out of production stamps remember that FK has them on promotion. Danielle is leading the trend for simpler yet classy cards that I notice is taking over from the multi layer, heavily embellished cute cards. Yes girls times are a changing and so is Sugar Nellie.

We are sad that Astrid and Tiets have decided to move on, they have been an important part of our DT and Tiets especially has been with me since the very first DT, I wounder if anyone out there can even remember who was on the first DT that SN ever had?

Sugar Nellie has its 5th birthday next month, I cant believe the journey this small rubber stamp company has taken, the twist and turns, fast and slow, it has been quiet a ride. We are going to start with a massive cut of our range, after 5 years we have way too many stamps in production and we are going to discontinued many to make some room.  I am shipping a few big boxes over to Debbie and hope that her USA only web site is open for our Birthday, allowing our American sugar addicts a quicker and less costly (customs) sugar fix.

I had better move, its time to load Megan into the car and get my skates on. Hope you have a restful Sunday and maybe a little time to craft.
Take care
Karen

Reindeer Ride

Good morning everyone and hope that you're having a lovely Saturday. This is Michele here and today I'd like to share with you a card that I've made using one of the adorable digi images from Sugar Nellie.

The image that I've used on my card is the gorgeous Reindeer Ride and I've coloured it using my promarkers, flexmarkers and aquamarker pens.

The DP is called Vintage Christmas and you can get it from here.

The flowers I made myself and the sentiment is from Funky Kits and you can get it here.

That's it from me today and thanks for stopping by :0)

There's A Touch Of Autumn In The Air.

Good Morning Sugar Addicts :)

There is a new challenge posted over on the Sugar Bowl this morning.
As always, there is a fab sketch to follow from Sweetie Maria with an optional theme of 'Autumn'.

Maria's gorgeous card uses my most favourite Sassy stamp Bella Bunting...I luvs this stamp a lot  :)
And blue/brown is my favourite colour combo too!

Jenny  has used the most perfect image - along with the perfect sentiment - from the Autumn kit.
Jenny has also stamped around the image with the leaf stamp included in the kit...which compliments the image and really ties the whole card together beautifully.

Louise has used an older image too...the sweetest Soft Centre MacBeth combined with these fabulous Autumnal shades and papers. I do love a shaped card...I'm rather boring and tend to reach for the standard square card but this round card certainly makes more of a statement.

I hope you'll find some free time to join in our little challenge...everyone is welcome to come along and play in the Sugar Bowl.

Thanks for looking.
love Elaine xxx

Peek A Boo

Hello sweet friends.  Our temperatures are cooling down and the leaves are starting to turn colors.  Fall is definitely around the corner.  I do love the fall but I'm not quite ready to let go of the summer yet so I decided to make a card with fresh, summery colors to share today.

This sweet, adorable girl is Peek A Boo.  I just love her cute little face and her kitty too.  I colored with copics and colored pencils and used Glamour Dust on the flowers on the gift.  I added some pearls, ribbon, and a bow with a flower.  You can find this stamp over at Funky Kits

Thank you for stopping by to visit.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Anita

a fall card

Helllo dear Sugar addicts!
This is Kathrin here today sharing a new card with you.

October has come and so it's definately fall outside. Time to grab out those fall images and get inspired by those beautiful colors outside.

For my card I used one of those older stamps again. This is from Home Grown's Fall Stamp Kit.
The whole kit is full of georgeous stamps but this is one of my favs. I am wondering how long he has been standing there already - and I promise the leaf won't fall until he turns around to leave. ;)

I colored the image with Distress Markers. Coloring the leaves was so much fun and I totally love the natural outcome.
I used a background stamp with small leaves around the image and stamped those with green ink.
I know, I talked about the beautiful colors that fall holds for us and I guess everyone has been thinking of red and orange and yellow. But I got inspired by a tree that I have standing in front of my craftroom window. It's a big walnut tree and the leaves don't get orange or red, they just turn yellow. So this tree is full of green and yellow leaves now and between the leaves I can see the blue sky... And so I went with these colors for my card.
The rusty little rabbit is from an old garland I bought years ago as decoration - and totally forgot about it. We are planning a move right now and have started sorting out the piles of stuff that came together in the basement during the last years. And that's where I found this garland again - and just cut it apart to use the bunnies.

So, enjoy this fall day everyone!
Hugs
