Summer Holidays

Counting down the days until our Scottish school holidays.
Also its 4 weeks until CHA.............Orlando here we come :)

SO I was just wondering, do you ease off on the crafting when its summer? I know in the craft shop that Sept/Oct are the busiest months with everyone doing so much more for Christmas.
With children to entertain, visitors arriving, going away yourselves.............how much less crafting do you do over the summer?

I ask because we have several new ranges to launch, Eva & Linda are back to join the "every 2 month" release from Suzanne, Leanne and Mary. Diane is every quarter. And our home grown artists have been busy also.
So much sweetness, so much rubber, should we take it easy for the holidays? Can you cope with a sugar free summer? All those summer salads are only bearable because of the fresh cream puddings, a girl need fresh cream if she has to eat lettus! ( Its not so bad if its in a bun with a cheese burger- can you tell it's lunch time and I am hungry:P)

Enjoy the sunshine in the UK, fire up the BBQ, be quick, it might rain later.

New rubber is an essential any time of year, in my experience anyway.

When my girls were younger stamping was a fantastic rainy day (and sunny day if the image got our imagination going) distraction through the school holidays. It also meant they they were involved in the shopping and somehow we bought more!
So keep your lovely temptations coming all year, please!

Well, I won't slow down. I Don't have children to entertain and I have friends over all the time throughout the year, but always for the weekend, because they all live at least 200km away, I won't go on vacation before September...

I'd survive a summer with less sugar, but I sure would love to get my regular fix (it might be a chance to buy all the stamps I have on my wishlist though *lol*)

I love to craft whatever the time of year. The busiest time for me is March/April when I'm dealing wit year-end and even then, if I can't craft I love to buy stamps and daydream about them :)

So summer's no time to cut off the sugar supply for me :)

I don't think I ease off in Summer as school hols don't really affect me as my lo is only 1yr old. I spend just as much too! Love Rowena

Hi I too ease off in the summer. It is hard to craft when the children are up playing outside till later and you want to get away on the sunny days you are at home. I think that the collections are coming so fast that it is hard to choose what to buy, while at Xmas you can choose your stamps in October and November and your husband lets you have them as an early present.

I tend to keep crafting in the summer but usually in the evenings when I cant sleep. Please dont ease off the sales. I'm sure ppl will still buy them, even if they buy them and put them aside for a little while.

You can not deny us Sweet Sugar Rubbah! Please dont do that. I dont think I could cope! :)

Yeah I do slow down on the crafting during Summer... most years. Last year the weather was very bad and the kids and I spent quite some time with scissors and papers :)

Oh gosh, I actually gear up in the summer. If I don't get started on my Christmas gifts in July, they'll never be done in time!

Give a girl some sugar, please! :)

Keep them coming!! I never have enough hours to craft and consistantly make cards and shop for something new!

I defnately don't ease up on my crafting over the summer. I don't have any children and don't take my holidays in the summer months so a sugar free summer would be awful for me!! :-( Looking forward to the new releases!

I'm a bit like that squirrel, hoarding those acorns and nuts away ready for winter. I NEED to buy all the stamps I can just in case there's ever a world shortage of rubber!
But if there ever is a shortage, I will share, promise!
So keep the sugar coming please.

My crafting only stops when I go away on holiday and believe me, if I thought I could get away with it, I would carry on then too!! If I'm at home and the weather is good, I take it all out into the garden with me :-) Keep the sugar coming! katxx

well we're away off on holiday for a week this Friday and I have a load of Sugar Nellie's stamped up so I can tek them with me to colour.
I guess I do ease off a bit on the crafting, as long as the weather's good. But if the garden is all up to date then I can craft outside in the sunshine while the kids play in the garden.
have a great summer Karen and good luck with all these new releases.

I'm at home in the summer months so I will craft and if I go on vacation I bring my pencils and images with me to colour :)

By the way, we are thinking of going to Scotland for our holiday, is september a good month to go??

And another question, what's better for the rubber...just stamp the ink off or stamp it of and than also clean with a babywipe (lotion)?

Have a sunny day!

Renata

I even carry as much as possible for 1 craft only (usually not paper, though) on vacation. Usually some sorts of beads. I'm planning to take paints, so maybe a piece or 2 of rubber. But I never ease on crafting :D

I have to say with my son's sports/sun/home projects & vacations I craft less. It is also so hot in my room that I can't spend lots of time in there. Very sad...but true! I will always search the net & save ideas for the future though!

I don't ease off crafting during the summer. How could I when it's like breathing, you can't ease off that either! :) Plus I don't have any children so I can just craft, craft, craft the summer away. So please, keep the sugar coming! :)

Hi Karen and hasn't it been gorgeous in Elgin today!! More of this weather would be great!! I don't do so much crafting in the holidays as it's hard to fit in with the kids off school and going to visit relatives etc etc. I do miss it though when I don't have the time!! Claire xx
