Thinking about.......

Thinking about changing over to Wordpress, the choice of having other pages rather than just one is tempting, what are your thoughts on blogger v wordpress?

Thinking about a new range of designs that are sitting on my desk, your view would be appreciate . Its hard to keep up with myself at the moment and with so much news coming soon, I would like a second opinion on these so we can move on to the next thing :)
Have a great weekend and its great to see some new stampers over at SCS.

I don't know a thing about typepad - but I DO know a thing or two about cute stamps/images. Those are among them. I'd by them. For sure!! LOVE the vintage feel. They look like illustrations from an old children's book or old paper dolls from the 40-50's. Adore it! :D

Looks like I'm going to have another cavity!! LOL

I've used both Wordpress and Blogger, and I really prefer Wordpress. Are you thinking of using the Wordpress.com blogs, or having it installed on your sugarnellie.com hosting?

I've been thinking of switching my blog over to Wordpress soon, actually.

The new designs are sweet, but not my style.

My local craft shop has a wordpress blog (http://craftyaddict.wordpress.com/) although it is rather new.

Even though I am registered on blogger it would not stop me using a wordpress blog. I think if it would give you more room to grow the blog, maybe using a different page for each range of stamps then go for it.

I hope this helps you a little.

Forgot to mention on my last comment that I love the new stamp designs you keep showing. I can't wait for them to arrive online.

Hmn...very Mary *wink* therefor you know what my thoughts are!

On Blogger via Wordpress, Wordpress takes FAR TOO LONG to leave comments on and is far less customizable

That's my twapennies worth!

I love these, they remind me of the cards we used to get at school, when we did something good.

Thanks for sharing and have a good weekend,

Moving to wordpress would be a great idea.. it has more possibilities.. the only thing is that you have to pay, but you can do a lot more with it. Those images are very sweet..!!!

I have always use wordpress -I don't like blogger/blogspot etc.
If you bought a domain ,then most hosts have fantastico which is basically one click and you have wp installed.having your own domain is ideal,if not then wordress.com will host your blog free, for you.
You have more control over the look ,you can have scheduled posts etc.
I won't run off into a tangent but yes wordpress is far superior to blogspot.I'm looking from the point of SN is a successful trading company. You need to reflect that-but don't lose the friendly welcoming sugar love :)

Oh I think these are so cute!! Look at those chubby little legs!!

They look cute, but for me they won't be on top of the list of stamps to buy..

Oohps, forgot to say.. I'm a Wordpress girl, and I wouldn't go back to blogger for my main blog, Wordpress is very versatile and the move to them was very quick and painless ;)

Love the sweet new images - hope you go with them.

Sorry I don't know anything about typepad.

apologises to the artist and others to but I agree with Jill I don't like them at all, they don't fit in with the rest of the sugar range either in my opinion.

I love them both.. They are gorgeous.. When is going to be the release?.. They are adorable.

Well, I love them!!
They remind me so much of illustrations in books I had as a small child. I would definately buy this style of stamp.

They are not my thing too, I'm sorry to he designer!

I really like these images. I'm not sure about moving from blogger as I've only used blogger so I'm not much help lol.

I'm with Jill (1st post)... sorry, but they're not my cup of tea either. The homegrown ones you've been showing over the past few days are gorgeous, however, and I will certainly be buying all of them when they are released. But sadly I'm not interested in these two - so sorry!

those designs are not my style - but hey if we all liked the same things then the world would be a very boring place. They're quite Hummel-esque!

can't comment on wordpress/blogger/typepad as I only have experience of blogger and I like it fine - suits my needs. I know Cosmo Cricket recently moved to Typepad as its functionality suited them better.

I'm not an artist but I find these drawings aren't drawn with as much detail as the others you have in your range and are more naive. They look like the word of a good amateur rather than a professional if you see what I mean? I don't think they fit in with the other designs you have and I wonder if you think that too hence the question. No offence meant-we can't please everyone all of the time etc, but I think there's something missing in them like the 'x needed in the x factor'-they're too 'obvious'. Clearly others like them but I just don't think they're quite the standard you usually have in my honest and very humble opinion.

Annie said...

those cuties remind me of my story books from the 1950s, so to me they are cute but maybe not so much to the younger generation. Wordpress pages seem to take ages to load but if it gives you more options then it'll be worth waiting for! hugs, annie x

Donalda said...

Well I don't know nothing about wordpress dear, but these stamps are just the cutest ever!!!! I so love the vintage feel of them. Man I would buy them that is for sure.

Anne said...

If you've got a use/need for the multi pages then maybe paying is worth it, otherwise no point...

Pretty images but not to my personal taste, they wouldn't be on my must-have list :)

I love these drawings, they look very vintage which appeals to me as I love the whole distressed/vintage look for my cards.

Sparkle and Flourish said...

well the home grown range I am dying for them to come out...woudl use them in a jiffy. Not so keen on the more old-fashioned style of these. I agree with a previous commentator that they look more amaeturish. You must be in 2 minds yourself.
Hope this week isn't too mad for you!

Annie said...

I thought I liked them at first - thought they were very lucy mabel Attwelish but on closer inspection they are a poor substitute.

sorry to the artist but with so many fantastic stamps out there everything needs to be stunning to do well and your other stamps are stunning.

they remind me of hummel figures. They are sweet but I wouldnt buy them cos just not my thing

I don't know anything about blogging, so I can't help you there. All I care is that I can still GET your blog! I am really inept with computers!
BUT these are WONDERFUL stamps! When are they coming out? SugarNellie is killing my wallet! LOL! I might just have to move onto your farm and work for you so that I can have all my SugarNellies!

K said...

I like blogspot just ok, it suits my needs - but if you need more, wordpress is the way to go, why not.

I loved the girls you showed in the last days, but these two are poorly drawn in comparison. The hands are practically not drawn/finished, the proportions of the arms are poor, the part around the ears is not thought out ... I don't know how to draw those parts as well, lacking knowledge and of course - talent, so I know where to look :(

maiju said...

Lovely, lovely stamps :)

No idea about wordpress as i haven't used it.
Have to say these stamps are just not my thing, apologies to the artist, love the sneek peaks of the other stamps you have been giving us though

I think they are fairly cute :) But i definitely love others in your ranges much more and probably would not buy these. I don't really like the 2nd girls legs. However it's true we all like different things - this is obvious from the comments one way or the other on this post! You'd probably have a similar response to asking the question about the other stamps too. lol

Sorry, I don't like these stamps and wouldn't buy them. I'm with Wordpress and do find it a bit tricky at times. Blogger is more user friendly and much easier to customise. The picture options are better on Wordpress.
If you select you 'Open ID' in your Blogger settings, I can leave a comment with my Wordpress blog...LOL!

There is a fine line sometimes between cute & sickly. I'm afraid for me they fall just the wrong side of that line. Having said that they are quite diferent from all the other little girls out there, & I am sure they would find a niche. I don't dislike them, it's just they don't float my boat!

moving blogs is such a difficult choice. I registered my blog name with word press a few months ago when I was having some frustrations with Blogger. I got them worked out and moved on. There are days when I feel like blogger has a brick wall between me and what I want to do with my blog.

As for the new girl stamps, just not my cup of tea. I love the last group you posted but these don't seem to have the charm and appeal for me.

Candy said...

Hi,
You have certainly had the gamet of comments!!
I love the images you have shown tonight. I have a wide range of interests in stamping and these are very much like ( I hate to admit ) vintage images when I was a child.
Sorry I can't advise you about the differences in the blogs :o(

Macpurp said...

don't know anything about wordpress, have only used blogger.
I agree we all like different types of images, but these wee girlies are not my cup of tea either.

Sylvia Blum said...

The images are really cute! But they are not my 'style'.. for me they are too 'childlike' to use on the cards I make...

Wordpress vs. Blogger: I have had both and I absolutely prefer Blogger! For me, Wordpress is to complicated to handle .. I want it quick and easy to keep my blog up to date and not spending much time on setting the blog... but that's MY very own opinion ;)

{love} Sylvia

Donna said...

Sorry to say these two are not for me either. They remind me of something from the early 50's. I wouldn't be buying them. And as others have said, they are not in the style of other Sugar Nellie stamps.

As for Blogger, vs Wordpress, I would stick with Blogger, as you can do loads with it, and having a lovely background does make a difference.

Hugs
Donna

mmmm, the images are sweet, but not to my taste, the new girls joining the homw grown range are far more my thing, and will be waiting with baited breath to get my inky little fingers, but everyone is different and thats what makes the world go.

Lilian said...

I do not know anything about wordpress and I'm still trying to get the feel of blogger :) I'm no help there.

As for the images, I agree with curlywhiskersandtwitchingnoses and Judy. There's something missing. No offense meant to the artist.

Christine said...

Sorry, I am going to agree with some of the other comments and say, These are not for me. I have absolutley loved the other images that you have been showing lately and would definitely buy those. Not sure what to say about the whole blog thing as I have a Typepad blog. It seems to me that there are pros and cons to all the different blog programs.

Ali Watson said...

Mmm not my cup of tea sorry. As for Wordpress vs Blogger I have moved back to wordpress but that is just MY personal preference. Why not set up a trial blog on wordpress and see for yourself you can keep it private just like blogger. Blogger has been so unreliable for me anyway.

Sheri said...

I have blogger and love it. I think the stamps are just precious!

Clare Arnold said...

The new images are cute but yet again very biased towards cards for girls and women in general. I have more than my fair share of images for female cards ( but can always find a home for someting that really really appeals to me ;) )

I could really do with some images more suitable for slightly older boys and those I could use for older male cards. I have sk8ter boy etc but need something a little more grown up now

rcooley said...

Sorry, I would not put these on a must have list. I am however looking forward to your new stamps and the restocking of older images.

Claire said...

Mm, not keen on these stamps - love the others though!! Claire x

Linda S. said...

The two new stamps shown would not be high on my want list. No one has mentioned price, and that might be the deciding factor for me. They are cute, and I might use them for scrapbook pages about my childhood, but I really don't see them on a card...which is my passion right now. Sorry, I am no help on blogger vs. Wordpress. My only thought is, "Please, Please, make it easy for us to leave a comment and not have to jump through rings like we are at the circus. Thanks for asking. It is interesting to see all the comments. Sorry they are not my cup of tea either, someone has already mentioned they do not fit in with the rest of the SN ranges and I agree. I wouldn't buy them I'm afraid.

I'm a Blogger girl but am toying with WP, just need to find the time to do it

I am soory to see the negative remarks about those images!! I think they are adorable, and would buy them in a minute! please dont give up on them just yet...

I'm sorry but i dont like them as much as your other ranges - very sweet drawings but not for me :(

Oh, they are lovely. a little bit vintage. I hope you got them as an stamp. It is very lovely to see something different than Magnolia stamps( I do love magnolia too).

They are cute and a challenge to colouring

I love these images they remind me of my Lucy Atwell books I loved as a child. As for blogger v wordpress -I am still learning to navigate blogger as I am so rubbish at it. I might change if it's easier!!
