Flower Fairy

Just a quick post today ... as i showed you some cards using a few of the Diane Duda boy images I thought it only fair to share a girls card today :)

How gorgeous is this card made by Rowena? Soooo bright and cheery - I love it - and check out those papers. Makes me wanna smile just looking at it so i haaaad to share!!

If you like the look of the new Diane Duda fairy images, you can grab yourself some here. This particular cutie is called Flower Fairy.

Oooooh talking about the Diane Duda images - have you seen the stamp promotion Funky Kits is running? They have 2 sets of Dianes stamps, each with 4 designs for a whopping 30% off at under £15 for the 4 stamps!! Woohoooo ....... what you waiting for .... go grab em while you can!!

Diane Duda Digi Inspiration

Well it didn't take long for the design team to start crafting up a storm with the new digi images!! I can't say i blame them either - Dianes work is sooo different to anything out there, and she has provided us with lots of fabulous boy images this time around. You can NEVER have enough boy images - its soo nice to see some more illustrations for the boys!

Both Janiel and Donalda have made a card using the fabulous Puppy Dog Tails image. I really love this one in particular - it has a from, worm, backwards cap, lil puppy and a bandaged knee - could this image be any more BOY!! Such a typical boy - perfect!!!

I am loving the blue tones Donadla has used on her card. She has used a nice simple, fuss free layout - perfect for the boys!!

Janiels card is just as fabulous!! I love the way she has distressed around the image in the blue - gorgeous sweetie!!

Sarah has used To the Moon. Now i just LOVE this image. It reminds me sooo much of Ryan - my little monkey. Im not sure if any of you have heard of it, but when he was littler I used to love reading him the book "Guess how much I love you", its such a sweet book to read at bedtime, and of course its always looovely when your little one tells you ..... " I love you to the mooooon and back!! " - Ok ... so the book is actually about little nutbrown hare - nothing to do with rockets at all but the name of the stamp reminded me :p How fabulous is this curcular easel card too - sooo gorgeous!!!

Thank you for the inspiration girlies :) and dont forget .. if you are tempted and go and grab some of the digi stamps, why not join in with the sketch challenge at the Sugar Bowl? Just click the challenges tab at the top of the blog and it will take you straight there.

Its time for another challenge at the Sugar Bowl!!

Fancy a challenge? Not just any challenge - a yummy scrummy sketch challenge with some pick 'n' mix as a prize? - ok not the edible kind of pick 'n' mix - even better ... the fat free rubber kind!!!! - Yup you can choose 6 your favourite rubbery stamps as a prize - woohooo!!

Wanna peek at the fabby sketch - its a goodie i promise :)

Kathy30 - Shabby Chic

As always, and just to be a little bit different to the other sketch challenges around, there is a 'please include' which this time around is 'Shabby Chic' - simples!! A little reminder for you too - if you wanna win the rubber - and lets face it who wouldnt right? - you gotta use a Sugar Nellie image. It couldnt be any easier now we have the digi images either - have you been to see the new Diane Duda ones yet over at Funky Kits? - Why not treat yourself to one to use with the gorgeous sketch!! You have untill midnight on Wednesday 10th March to enter - plenty of time to get creative!Wanna quick peek at one of the DT cards? - you do? Check out this gorjuss creation by Judy!!

Sugar Nellie Spotlight

Well, its Tuesday again - how quickly is time deciding to fly by!! Sooooo, you know what that means dont you - its time to let somebody shine in the Sugar Nellie Spotlight again - yippeeee!!

I wont drag it out this week I promise :p, today in the spotlight we have the lovely Helene aka Mummylade!!!!!

Before I share some of her gorgeous projects with you here, i will of course give you some info to feed your nosiness!!! Sooooo, this is what Helene has to say about herself ...

"I'm a mother of two and I work as a secondary school teacher. To time out from all theory at work I enjoy creating with my hands. I started crafting about two years ago and I think I have found my style just lately =).
Vintage and shabby chic is what is closest to my heart and I love folding boxes and altering stuff.

I cannot be without distress inks and I'm totally addicted to paper roses.
The first person to notice my work and take me under her wings were Susie Sugar - bless that wonderful woman - and today I design for Die Cut Dreams, Stampin' for the Weekend and Allsorts challenge. I still find that absolutely overwhelming.

There are so many fantastic crafters in the world and I'm so glad I started blogging cause I have learned so much and their comments bring such joy and I am proud to be a part of this community.

Hugs from Mummylade"

Now on to the projects!! I say projects and not cards because browsing Helenes blog i couldnt help but notice all of the gorgeous 3d work and gifts that she creates, so i decided i would share a selection of craft with you today instead of just cards - showing you just how versatile the Sugar Nellie stamps can be!!

Firstly i wanted to share this gorgeous little book mark. I love how Helene has masked the bottom of the image leaving a nice soft line printing only the top of the Elizabeth Bell cutie - and what better image to use on a bookmark than this!! I love the soft colours Helene has used when colouring, check out the way the white embossed image stands out too - love it sweetie!!

This next project uses one of my favourite Sugar Nellie stamps - the lovey Daisy. Here Helene has added her to a stunning pillow box. What a gorgeous little gift box - i know anyone would be pleased to receive this little baby - i love how the ribbon is slotted through the sides of the image, its sooo soft and girly!

The last project that i want to share with you is this stunning bottle topper. What a fabulous idea!!! How gorgeous would this be hooked over the neck of a loooovely bottle of bubbly - such a simple way to make a fantastic gift, and how beautifully has that image been coloured!

Now ... I couldn't do a Sugar Nellie spotlight without sharing cards could I!!!! I love the way that Helene has used die cut letters to add her sentiment, and the colour combination - chocolate with the rose pink is sooooo pretty!! Check out the flower embellishment in the corner too - a punched flower with a bloom and a paper rose - stunning!! Such a beautiful soft card Helene!!

I hope you like the creations i have chosen to share with you today!! Helene has a blog FULL of yummy creations so please do go and visit her if you get the chance. Thank you for letting me show you in the Sugar Nellie Spotlight Helene, it was a pleasure browsing through your blog looking for samples to share.

Sugar Nellie Spotlight

Ok, so another Tuesday means we see another person in the Sugar Nellie Spotlight!!! Today we have another super talented crafter getting her chance to shine on our blog. So i would looooove to introduce you all to .......... Maria!!

As always, to feed the little nosy part of us all i asked for a little bit of information from Maria and here is what she has to say for herself.

"Hello, my name is Maria Therese and I live in Norway with my two sweet daughters (4.5 years and 9 months) and my husband. Most of my blog friends call me Tessa.
I started scrapbooking in 2005, after my first daughter was born and these last few years I've become more and more addicted to stamping and card making. Through the last year I've also fallen in love with Promarkers and as a result more cards are being made.
I almost never make a card without inking the edge on the paper with my favourite Fluid Chalk Chestnut Roan, I also love to use my edge distresser. And, lately I rediscovered my sewing machine too.
My Bigest Sugar Nellie addiction is the Gorjuss girls. Even got a mouse pad with them.
Hugs from Maria Therese"

Ok, so here are the cards, I KNOW that you want to see!!

Firstly, i have this cute tag card to share with you, i love the soft muted tones that have been used here - a theme common on Marias cards, she seems to be able to do the vintage style perfectly!!! I love the sentiment that has been teamed up with the image, what a fabulous friendship card!!

This next card features one of the fabulous Leanne Ellis arty stamps, i love the brighter colours on this card, finished perfectly with those distressed edges. What a fabulous flower too which has been matched beautifully with that gorgeous colouring.

Another soft and stunning creation here, this time using one of the Gorjuss girls. Now when Maria says that she has an addiction to these Gorjuss girls, she is telling the truth i can promise!! Her blog is just full of stunning Gorjuss creations making it really hard to choose one to share with you. As soon as I came across this one though, i knew i wanted you all to see it. I love the text paper mixed in with the other designs, complimented with the soft and subtle colouring on the image. Its looooovely!!

The last card i want to share with you today features one of the Diane Duda images. I LOVE the simplicity of this one, with the various shades of white distressed to allow them to stand alone. Soooo gorgeous, and really hard to do I have tried myself and have NEVER managed to achieve anything that looks like this!!! I love it!!! The plain soft background really draws attention to the beautiful image - which again has been coloured perfectly!!

I would like to thank Maria now for allowing me to share her work with all of you on the Sugar Nellie blog. I just LOVE seeing how all the customers use the images in different ways. It has been an absolute pleasure sharing your work here on the blog sweetie. If you love what you see - and lets face it, you know you do ;), please go and take a peep at Marias blog. It is full with TONS of stunning cards. You can go visit her here.

If you would like to be in the Sugar Nellie Spotlight in the future, can you please make sure that i can find you email address somewhere, ither on your blog or on your profile. I have been looking at soo many fabulous blogs of our followers but have no way of contacting you so can't put you up!!! Thanks sweeties :)

Sugar Nellie Spotlight

Can you believe it is that time of the week again? Tuesday means its time to let someone shine in the Sugar Nellie Spotlight!! How quickly can one week go!!!! I have yet another super sweet crafter to shine today the looovely Ria. Naturally i asked Ria for some info - for all us nosy crafters :p so here is what she has to say for herself :

Hi, My name is Ria van Son and I am living in a small town in The Netherlands.
I am proberbly known by most of my blogging buddies as the Challengeaholic. And I don't mind that name one bit hahahaha it is the truth I loveee challenge and try to play them almost everyday.

I started to create cards again in 2007, i didn’t make any cards for 18 years! In those 18 years I was busy sculpting fantasy figures as Dragons, Witches, Wizards, fairys and so much more, and making jewelry from Polymer clay. But my carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands made an end of my Polymer clay career. And I renewed my love with papers and stamps and Am not regretting leaving my polymerclay career for one moment! I am colouring with my precious Copics since June 2009 and think they are the best thing that is ever invented ;)

So now you all know a little bit of me and if you want to see what I do please visit my blog www.dragonmagic.nl/blog

Now, on to the part of Sugar Nellie Spotlight I am sure you have all been waiting for , some of Ria's fabulous cards!!!!! I know i say this every week, but it really is sooooooo hard selecting cards to share with you all as I always find TONS of stunning creations. I like to mix a bit of old with some new, to share a real variety with you :)

This first card i have to share with you features the fabulous Pen Pals stamp. I love the softness that Ria has achieved with this card, the pastel blues mixed in with the materials from the flowers and ribbon, finished beautifully with the charm and gems - soooo pretty I am sure you will all agree!!

Next I have the beutiful Fairy Maggie to share with you all. Its always sooo lovely to share designs with some of the older stamps. Isn't it stunning and soooo girly!!! If this card doesnt make you all want to raid your old stash i don't know what will!!

Now, would a Sugar Nellie Spotlight post be complete without a bit of Gorjuss? I think not!! There were soooo many Gorjuss cards on Ria's blog - i think she ( like us all!!! ) has a bit of a Gorjuss fetish!! hehe!!! I chose this one to share because i just loooove the pink against the green with the little brown accents - and check out that stunning bloom in the corner complete with pin and ribbon detail - truely Gorjuss Ria!!!

Now, with all the previews for the new Manga images, i just had to share this card with you as soon as i saw it whilst browsing Ria's blog!! I LOVE the monochrome look!! I can never quite manage to do it myself but clearly you can Ria, this is a stunner and sooo striking!!!

I hope you have enjoyed todays Spotlight post, please do go and visit Ria's blog - she really does have a STUNNING selection of cards on there!! DOnt forget to check back next week to see if its YOU!!!!

Lastly - don't forget our candy draw!! You can win Coffee Time here!!
