Family comes first

Here is Alison's Recipe of Love card for her other half.
Having sat and read Ali's blog it is evident that she is all about family.
Clearly by the words on this card she has found her sole mate.
Being a wife, mother, daughter, family and friend is Al's number one priority.
For this reason Ali needs to spend some time with her nearest and dearest.
They have a fantastic support system where she comes from on Millport and for now Ali needs to
look after herself and her family.
I hope she still has time to craft and keeps her place as a Sweetie over on our challenge blog, but she has decided to step down from the SN DT. Having been a sugar addict for so long I doubt she will disappear, once an addicted its hard to kick the habit.
Take care Ali, you have always been a support to me from the very start and I know that I may loose you from the DT but your always be my crafting buddy.xx

School Fundraiser

Jenny did a class in store with FIZZY MOON
and I took the left overs home to make some quick and easy cards
for the School Daffodil tea last Thursday.

I also used some of the candy from our sweet table to make up some goodie bags and used my favourite SU stamp to decorate.

and lastly a couple of gingerbread bunnies from Asda,
99p a box, first box was all but broken, ( I'll manage to eat those up I suppose)
and a little gingham ribbon , great profit margin on this one ;)

*******
You'll also be impressed that I actually DID the facebook challenge this week

only because it was so easy and took minuets, that's all I have spare these days.

****

The kids are tuned into Lambing Live on BBC, why I don't know,
its maybe a bit like watching crafting on the TV *rolls eyes*
Our lambing is coming to an end, we have 5 pet lambs this year, not bad at all.

*****

With the school holidays now on, I will have a few days at home to keep them company but today I had to go to the HOS and as I had no computer I found myself re arranging the shop, OH NO Kate will not be happy! Jenny was in to collect the supplies for her next class, Letraset Markers and CC Designs on Sat 23rd. See events at the top of the page.
Erika from Personal Impressions was also in spending her Mothers Day voucher on ribbons, oh and a little seam binding, some fabby giant buttons.
That's what a crafter who has everything need from her local shop for local people :)

I also need to get Kath's goodie box filled with all things yummy for her to play with on her demo day 7th May. Again what do you send a crafter who has everything?

I even came up with the line for a local paper's editorial on the store.
"Everything you need and all the things you want."

take care

Karen

PS watch out on the Sassy Blog for a guest DT spot.

Sugar Addicts Showcase Sunday.

For this weeks Showcase Sunday we are shining our spotlight on another addict Marie, and this lady has an addiction to a certain range of Sugar Nellie stamps, as you will see.
First though a little background on Marie:

I live in London with my son, Sam and our fur baby Tippy. I started card making after having a complete lifestyle change - I was always busy working at an ad agency or out socialising with friends but then in 2006, I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and although I've now had most of my treatment and it's at a stage that I can live with it, I'm still unable to work. And so.....after getting bored of spending night after night in front of the TV, I decided to try a hobby - card making was the one and I haven't looked back!!! I also discovered blogging just over a year ago and through that, I've made so many friends in the card making world and love nothing more than visiting blogs and taking part in challenges. I've been a regular visitor to the House of Sugar - I think my first Sugar Nellie stamp was a Gorjuss Girl but since the release of the Simply Sassy's, I've been first in the queue on every release day!! I've not loved a stamp range as much as these and they're perfect to colour with distress inks.

And this is the gorgeous card that Marie sent for me to show...

A fabulous boys card made with a Sassy image called No 1 fan and available to buy HERE
Of course I had a good wander around Marie's blog to pick some more cards to show you.

I had to show you this one, I LOVE this image! And I love the monochromatic colours,  fab sentiment too. The image is called Little Light of Mine and you can buy her HERE.

Oh yes, another of my favourites again, Luv a Latte and you can get your inky mitts on her HERE.
And last but not least....

This little lady is called High School Student and you can buy her HERE. I love those papers with this image - perfect!
As you have guessed by now Marie has a Sassy addiction, just like me! I know Karen has sent out set 6 of the Sassy stamps to the dt so I've got my fingers crossed that we won't have to wait too long for the next release. I shall be stalking Funky Kits again!
A big 'Thank You' Marie for allowing me to showcase your beautiful Sassy cards.
I hope you've enjoyed looking at my choices and why not pop over HERE and have a look through Maries blog.
Thanks for looking.

Which ones?

Oh crafting and chocolate the perfect blend.
This project from Kathrin is egg-stra special and I just LOVE IT!

Don't miss out on the Simply Sassy Blog Hop,
all the girls have put so much effort into their work and I am delighted with all the
amazing creations that they make, oh to be that talented!
A huge thank you to the Sassy DT for the hop and their constant daily ideas.
You MUST do the hop, there is candy hidden a little like an Easter egg hunt, go look for yourselves.

Keep an eye open for new designs from Krista on her blog

and I had to go do a little shopping in Krista's  ETSY store today as Debbie has just left the UK to
spend her 21st with Tom (all say awww, young love, wish you cold hang on to that feeling for every) and
I have a case to fill with USA shopping before she comes back in two weeks, yipee!
I am only buying things I cant get here or that cost too much in customs :)
That excludes 12" papers because I NEVER need any more EVER EVER again.

Have a good look at Krista's Sassy Girls and let me know what you would like to see in rubber?
You know I listen and I do it all for you right? There is so many to choose from I sometimes don't know which way to turn, help me out, which one is your favourite?

So here at home the lambing is almost finished, 9 pet lambs at the last count and I have friends coming around this afternoon to see them. It was the warmest place in the UK yesterday, WOW could you believe it, today not so nice, rain this morning but the sun has come out to play and hopefully the girls will also put their wellies on and go outside to explore while I get to catch up with coffee and cake.

Hope you enjoy your weekend.
take care

Old And New.

When my mojo has gone for a wander, or if I'm short of time, I find it really helpful to have a sketch to follow. Over on The Sugar Bowl is a fab sketch and of course there is always a fab prize too for the lucky winner.
Sugar Nellie produces many different ranges of stamps, to suit all tastes, and like lots of other crafters I have stamps from every range from the older ones through to the newest releases. I love them all but I do have my favourites (sshhhh don't tell Karen I said that!)

This is the beautiful card that Carisa made for the challenge, using my absolute favourite - well for now anyway - Sassy image called Fashionista. She is just SO pretty and definitely Sassy.

Pops chose an older image by Kathy Hare called Searching for her gorgeous card. I love the fresh feel of Spring to this one.

To enter the challenge the rules are very simple: Use a Sugar Nellie image, either of the rubber kind or a digital image, and follow the sketch. You can rotate the sketch as Carisa has done. The challenge always has a theme, which you can choose to follow or not and the current theme is 'Think Pink' which both ladies have
used. If you don't have a blog but want to enter the challenge then you can send your photograph to Sugar Mama Gayle and she will add your entry. All the details can be found at the Sugar Bowl and you have until next Wednesday evening before this challenge closes. So ink up your favourite Sugar Nellie - old or new - and get your entry in.
